I ordered this cd on a whim at [...] based on the reviews that highly recommended it. I was originally looking for another cd and Amazon.com gives you other choices that you might like that are similar to your original search. I am so glad I took the time to look at the other choices because I found Azucar, ordered it, and it is my favorite cd I have purchased this year so far. The music is simply amazing!

I was introduced to this CD (tape then) by a massage therapist I worked with as a teenager up and I have owned it ever since and every time I think of accustic guitar I think of this CD because it is wonderful in so many ways! This CD will make you want to learn how to play guitar!~ Enjoy.

Great Summer CD.......2003-07-23

I bought this CD while on vacation in Cabo and have loved it ever since. Great blend of Spanish guitar, with overtones of Flamenco and Brazilian influences. Buy it and play it at your next get-together with friends and I guarantee someone will ask you where you got it. If you're also looking for another artist along similar lines, I recommend Govi.

Bailando con Lola is a mature work by artists who clearly know what they're doing, and sound like they're having a great time doing it. It's also energetic, catchy, sensual, and *very* Spanish.

Imagine a mix of The Toasters, Joe Ely, Khaled, Les Negresses Vertes, and Tito Puente and you might get a vague notion about this Argentine pop band. Lots of horns, loud electric guitars, fat funky bass, and a varied Latin and rock percussion sound give the record lots of spice. They also offer some star power on this record: Mick Jones of the Clash tosses off a few lines. Big Youth toasts. Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz produce. Debbie Harry is lost in the mix on a strange take of "Strawberry Fields Forever." Rey Azucar is a great album cause people get crazy on the floor when they listen to "Mal Bicho". Sometimes mixes of different music sound a bit artificial but the cadillacs, as a latin band, have the perfect ability to mix raggamuffin, reggae and salsa. Viva los Cadillacs !

In their lyrics Los Fabulosos Cadillacs cover a great deal of social taboos, ranging from AIDS to racism, but do so in a haunting, intelligent, if not responsible manner. The ARgentine band is not a foolish loudmouth seeker of limelight. "Mal Bicho" sets things going on the dance floor with the LFC's characteristic blend of hot mambo, ska, and rock. Other party tracks include the wonderfully nutty "Raggapunkypartyrebelde". Other highlits include a cool duet with Debbie Harry "Strwaberry Field's Forver (John Lennon)", and so many other memorable songs. Get into the rebelious spirit!

Great Argentine rock album!.......1998-11-21

This album is really peppy - it's one of those CDs that will wake you up and get you revved up to greet the day! Los Fabulosos Cadillacs continue their original Argentine rock style in this excellent album. This is not airy pop, it's energetic, unique rock. "Mal Bicho" is their best-known song on this album, and it will not disappoint, especially if you like "Matador."

Best Flamenco Album of Azucar Moreno.......2006-03-20

Azucar Moreno is a Spanish band with 2 lead lady singers. I first came across this group in the flamenco movie "El Amor Brugo" - the original classic music is composed by De Falla, a Spanish composer. Via Amazon I was able to purchase 4 albums by Azucar Moreno. The Exitos Originales album has the true Flamenco pop music - it also features the song "Azucar Moreno" that appears in the movie I spoke of. The other tracks are similar in nature and could have been part of that movie. This makes the album vary Flamenco balanced.

A Latin dance classic!.......2000-07-16

I was captivated by Azúcar Moreno's stunning "Bandido" dance track from the Eurovision Song Contest 1990, also bought the album but didn't find the remaining material as interesting. But getting their "Mambo" album from 1991, it really made me a fan! There are certain resemblances to Madonna's "Vogue" in the title track but the latin touch makes it stand up very much in its own right. Great track! It's followed by the melancholic, yet very sensuous "Lujuria" (Desire) which has remained one of my all-time favorites of theirs. The next song is a good dance track as well but to me, it's hard to distract from the lyrics which celebrates the "brave toreros", and I don't approve of bullfighting at all. Boo! The mood shifts to the Latin "Tú quieres más", followed by "Ahora o nunca", written & produced by Raúl Orellana & Jaime Stinus, the men behind "Bandido", and it's very much in the same vein. "Feria" is somewhat frenetic, followed by another up-tempo dance track "Bailaor", featuring the sisters' characteristic Flamenco singing. "Tus besos me matan" (Your Kisses Are Killing Me) is another sensuous laid-back track, followed by four cover versions: "Loca Reloca" (Higher & Higher), a great Spanish versions of Rolling Stones' "Paint It Black", and the classic "Bésame mucho" and "El condor pasa". There are two bonus mixes of "Mambo" and "Torero" but they're almost identical to the album versions. All in all, a landslide of an album, still one of their very best!

My introduction to Azucar Moreno.......2000-04-10

Although I am 1/2 latino, I am not a native or fluent speaker of Spanish. And yet, this CD urged me into reviewing my university Spanish. I'm usually one of those impatient people that jumps tracks on CD's to find my favorite songs, but with this CD I don't have to do that...I like every song. I picked up this CD in Mexico at a used CD store. My wife and I had been doing some romantic dining at La Taberna Española, and when we asked the waiter which band was playing on the overhead music, he told us, "Azucar Moreno." I now own almost all of Azucar Moreno's CD's

Buena mezcla de ritmos diferentes.......2001-12-03

Lo que me sorprende de este disco es la manera en que Celia compone diferentes ritmos tropicales en un solo disco. Aunque Celia Cruz se hizo famosa por sus salsas ritmicas y calientes, esta grabacion tambien resalta sus otras calidades musicales. El album es muy suave de principio a fin y cada cancion tiene un elemento artistico digno de atencion. Por lo general, la primera cancion de un disco es la que llama la atencion de la gente y este disco no es excepcion. Sin lugar a dudas "Azucar Negra" es el exito pero las otras canciones tambien tienen sabor y deben ser escuchadas. Lo que me fascina es que hay un poco de todo. Hay cinco salsas y cada una tiene un estilo unico y las otras canciones son boleros o baladas depende de como el oyente las interprete. Basicamente es un album muy bueno y si decides tenerlo en tu coleccion musical creo que en poco tiempo se convertira en uno de tus discos mas apreciados.
