I like this cd a lot.......2005-04-08

Maybe it's actually more of a 4.5 for me. I do like pretty much every song, with Stop Draggin' My Heart Around and Don't Come Around Here No More being my favorites. Yes, they don't sound like Petty's originals. They sound pretty punk, as a previous reviewer noted. No offense to Mr. Petty, but when I listen to a bunch of his songs in a row they kind of all sound the same. This album avoids that, and, in my opinion, sounds great.

I think Tom & Mike should hunt down whoever put this travisty together along with the {cough, cough} artists who contributed to it & rip 'em to shreads for makin' my ears bleed.... I've heard a lot of crap in my day but this is sacrilege....

The Losers Didn't Get Lucky This Time.......2000-05-19

CAUTION! This CD IS hazardous to your health, karma, and piece of mind. If you are a collector of ALL THINGS PETTY then there may be a place in the corner of your basement for this disk. Otherwise save your money or take a friend to lunch or better yet invest it in any other CD that Amazon offers. The covers of Insider, Breakdown, and Nightwatchman are just very hard to sit through...seriously hard, seriously. (If my redundance changes just one mind my my work here is done). American Girl by Everclear is a not too bad cover. Stop Draggin' My Heart Around by Loud Lucy isn't offensive in the least...high praise indeed! If you pass through this world without hearing the rest, well, You Got Lucky...

Great Disc!.......1999-11-23

If you enjoy any other types of music in addition to TP (let's say you enjoy a bit of punk) and have an open mind, you will enjoy this disk. It's like tribute disks were before tribute disks became just a way to sell more CD's to benefit big bands who don't need any more record sales. This is a fun disk and based on interviews with TP, he liked it too.

All twelve groups on this album should write Tom Petty a formal letter of apology.

Ruining Down A Dream.......2005-11-11

This album is absolutely wretched. The singing on all but maybe 2 tracks is unconscionably bad-monotonic, voices cracking. Just horrible. I only paid $1 for it and I feel ripped off. I didn't like it.
