5 out of 5 stars received and pleased.......2007-05-30

The purchased cd arrived as stated brand new and fully sealed.I have purchased other cd's through Amazon and their branches so I was expecting to receive it a a lot quicker than I did.Nevertheless I was pleased with the service and realise that living in Australia you can't expect to receive goods at the same speed each time.

5 out of 5 stars Brings Back Memories.......2007-05-12

I had this back in the 70's and it still is a favorite. I play it all the time and can see now where I developed a love for a blend of rock & roll and jazz mix. This recording has both. Great music from Joe Walsh and his crew.

5 out of 5 stars The Smoker You Drink, the Player you Get.......2007-01-15

I wore this album out when it was in vinyl. I remember having to put pennies on the stylus so the needle wouldn't jump or skip. When I went to replace it on cassette, this album went out of print and later re-emerged without the songs on it that were written by Joe Vitale or Kenny Passarelli. I guess that was after Kenny left the band. Anyway, this is a great album that spans a wide type of songs, from rock and roll classics of course (Rocky Mtn Way and Meadows) to soft songs like Prayer. Midnight Moodies reminds me of jazz. Happy Ways is one of the bass player's songs that sounds great-very original and fun to listen to. Joe's next album, "So What" was also a great album. I would place both of these as essential for Joe Walsh fans and 70's rock fans alike. Barnstorm is more for just Joe Walsh fans but is a great album too. With all the different types of songs on it, this album is true album rock and to me is kind of a musical journey that you don't get from a lot of contemporary albums.

5 out of 5 stars Just Like The Old Days.......................2006-08-12

It Takes you back to a simpler time in the early seventies. From Joe's opening screams on "Meadows", to his guitar screams on "Rocky Mountain Way".......It brings back great times..Well worth the investment

4 out of 5 stars The listen you more, the like it you are..........2006-08-03

As a long time Joe Walsh/James Gang fan, this is a disc that I never got around to picking up. Better late than never. It's chocked full of great tunes, even the ones that don't get played on the radio are pure joy to listen to. Lots of ear candy.

5 out of 5 stars HUH? SOUNDS GREAT TO ME!.......2005-10-30

I'm not quite sure what the cat below is on about, especially since he seems to contradict himself halfway thru his text. So, let me try to set the record straight regarding this remaster.

I've A/B'd this remaster against all other available Walsh "Smoker" CD's & compilation CD's, and this is, by far, the best audio version available, including the faux "gold" CD that MCA put out in the early 90's.

Have fun trying to find one, though; all of the available copies have pretty been much been snatched up by JW fans and are gone for good... until another remaster shows up, that is.

Until someone does it better, this is the benchmark.

      3 out of 5 stars not a good album.......2005-03-28

about this mimi lp. not as good as people said. 4 songs i liked out of this. the rest was junk. the remaster was to harsh. not smoothed out. i can have the police at my door. thats how bad it was. my floor vibrated cause of the bass. but the remaster was fine, not perfect. i got all 3 of joe walsh mini lp and they have the same problem as this one did.
