Dependably enough, she still loves rock & roll. But what makes this Jett's ripest outing in years is her timely and well-deserved status as Original Riot Grrrl. Rather than adopting the noisecore assault of Babes In Toyland et al., she sticks to a rockin' pop-punk classicism that still echoes with her earliest influences, Suzi Quatro and T Rex. The spotlight will rightly fall on the four tunes written with Bikini Kill's Kathleen Hanna (check "Go Home" and the withering "Spinster"), but the Jim Vallance-cowritten "Eye to Eye" and "Insecure" are also worthy. --Jeff Bateman --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

This is another cd by Chris that i'm thrilled to add to my colletion.

For this project Chris choose to do a movie theme cd. He choose both old and new material.

I think Chris did a good job with this venture. He seemed to come up with some wholesome arrangements. His piano never sounded better. This will definately be a cd that will get much playing time on my cd player.

Recommendation: I would like to recommend this cd.

There isn't a single song on this album that sticks out as a radio-song type of hit the way I Love Rock n Roll did...Brighter Day could have been had the album been released 5 or 6 years earlier, maybe, or Insecure. Spinster is another great song, but it would have to be bleeped. In any case, this is a fine album, full of the catchy, punky bubble-gum that JJ has done so well from the very beginning. She starting her social-conscience songwriting here (Wonderin') and, frankly, she doesn't do the deep-thinking lyrics well. She's a howler, screamer, jumper--not a deep thinker. Compare her socio-political tunes to songs like "Star Star," "Bad Reputation," "I Love Rock and Roll," and you see where her strengths lie, and where they don't.

No covers on this album, which is unusual for her. A much better album than her recent release, Sinner. I like it a lot.

...so buy this record to appease her! You will thank me later, once you have heard the hard rock of Joan Jett and her crunchy guitar sound. Joan Jett's got a style of her own and is in a class by herself, and that's something the Jessica Simpsons, Britney Spearses, and Christina Aguileras of the world will never have. Nobody tells Joan Jett what to do, nobody tells Joan Jett what to think, and nobody but nobody tells Joan Jett how to behave! Can you handle the living embodiment of rock'n'roll that is Joan Jett?

This album DID NOT get the recognition it SO deserved. It's some the hardest stuff Joan Jett's EVER written. "Go Home" is kinda confusing at first, "Eye To Eye" is kewl, "Spinster" ROCKS!, "Torture" is fun, "Wonderin'", should've been a video, "You Got A Problem"..... AWESOME! But my favorite from this album, is "Consumed". True Jett form. This is one of Joan Jett's BEST CDs. I HIGHLY recommend this CD if you LOVE rock 'n' roll. And if you LOVE Joan Jett.

I'm sort of amazed at how LONG former Runaway Joan Jett's career has actually lasted,and it's still running.Playing basic three chord rock&roll with sultry vocals apparently still have a call for it.I'm not complaining,I mean 'Pure...' is a decent CD,I thought.Tunes here I liked best were "Eye To Eye","Go Home","Insecure","You Got A Problem" and the a couple of tracks she penned along side with producer Desmond Child "As I Am" and "Brighter Day".If you're a major Joan Jett fan,you should enjoy this release.If you happen to be a new fan,start with 'Bad Reputation' then work your way forward.

"Insecure" is one of the greatest rock'n'roll songs ever; right up with "Bad Reputation" and "I Love Playin' With Fire". It sort of reminds me of the Ronettes... The rest of the album is pretty damn cool too...

    This CD is meditation 101. It takes me to tranquil beautiful places. At times, the keys of the piano are so filled with serenity; it almost brings me to tears. I thank God for you and the beauty you bring to this earth.

    We love this. I like the mix of music. It was because of this cd my 9 year old daughter wnated to learn how to play canon on our piano. She now is a great player because of this inspiration. She also learned how to play . Gymnopedies No. 1 . Thank-you for the inspiration and the many romantic nights.

    This cd is one that I stumbled onto at the record store. I had never heard of Chris Peacock before. I am sure the people who live in Washington State know his name very well, for this is where he performs his magic.

    To talk a little bit about this cd, I would like to begin by saying Chris sure is a master of the piano. He plays in a very natural style with great command of his songs. He does not try to show off, but delivers a grand perfomance.

    The only dark spot I can bring to your attention, about this cd, is the song selection. I thought it could have been better. Chris plays a mixture of classical and popular songs. I feel like this was probably a mistake to mix the two venues.

    I will plan to buy more of Chris' cds in the near future.

      My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of meeting Christopher also at Rosario Resort (Orcas Island, WA) during my company retreat. Needless to say, a few monts later when by boyfriend proposed to me, we knew immediately we would be married at Rosario's and Christopher would play for our private ceremony and reception. It was a spectacular day my husband and I will cherish always, and our 40 guests. You will love this CD!

      Several years ago our family visited Rosario's Resort on Orcas Island in the San Juans of Washington State, where we personally met Christopher Peacock after his daily evening concert. He was warm and personable, and an inspiration to our aspiring daughter. We purchased Island Time and Oceans during that visit, and still enjoy the music's elegant, creative and soothing content. We even got his autograph! He is a talented but little known master of the piano. Here's to you, Peacock!

      I was searching for relaxing, soothing, music at a local music store when I ran across this CD in a listening center. I popped it in the player and adjusted the headsets. With the first track. I was intrigued; by the second track I was enveloped into a beautiful journey of the soul ! I bought the CD, and I love it . Now I'm shopping for more of Christopher Peacock's work. If you like Brickman, you will love this.

      I visited Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands and heard Christopher Peacock perform. He is very talented. This is one of my favorite CDs. It's perfect background music for dinner, entertaining, etc. I Love It!!!

      This is wonderful background music, suitable for listening while working, or while simply relaxing in the evening after work. Somedays at work, I listen to the album all day on random selection. The music does not demand your attention. It is just there offering inner comfort and peace.
