This is a fascinating CD, containing two song cycles--one brand new, by Osvaldo Golijov, and one dating from 1964, by Luciano Berio. Berios's is a setting of folk songs from several countries, including France, Italy, America, and Sardinia. Golijov's songs are in Spanish, but they cross Christian, Jewish, and Arab cultures. The Berio arrangements contain nicely odd harmonic cadences in the accompaniments. Dawn Upshaw sings them simply and directly, albeit in what might be called a traditional operatic, if low-keyed, fashion. Golijov's songs are strange, daring, and magnificent, in composition, accompaniment, rhythm, and vocal delivery. To be sure, Upshaw uses an operatic sound for much of the cycle, but she lets loose with some of the most remarkable yelps, hoots, and bellows to express the texts and situations as well. The songs vary: some are prayers, some folk songs, some lullabies. Golijov orchestrates with accordion, horn, laptop computer (electronica), flute, violin, viola, and more--and the sounds fit the words. He doesn't seem to care whether he's making music classical or popular: as a result he has created something unique. Fans of pop music will be as entranced by this as will those specializing in classical music. Try this--it's remarkable. --Robert Levine

On June 4 2007 I went to a meeting at the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Chicago Public Schools teachers were invited to brainstorm ideas to have our students working in the production of 'Ainadamar', an opera by Osvaldo Golijov, in cooperation with Albany Park Theatre Project (APTP). Osvaldo Golijov attended that meeting. Afterwards we were invited to stay to see Ayre. This is how I discovered Golijov.
By the second song I was completely blown away and almost in tears ... The music was so powerful, and the singing completely energetic and mesmerizing at the same time. Jewish music melted with Muslim influences and with a Spanish traditional touch here and there. The soprano Dawn Upshaw was brilliant, and so was the whole orchestra. I've never seen before a laptop computer mixed with an orchestra. And the orchestra itself was nothing conventional (Spanish guitar, accordion, flutes, oboes, violins, etc.). The composer himself presented the songs like a tribute to friendship. Also, he said it was a 'story on how the opressed became the opressors'. A very remarkable music experience that I strongly recommend. Not an easy listening, but definetely worth it!
The album contains two different pieces. Tracks 1-11 'Ayre' (2004) by Osvaldo Golijov (1960), which is the world premiere recording. Tracks 12-22 'Folk Songs' (1964) by Luciano Berio (1925-2003). The soprano Dawn Upshaw sings both of the pieces. I bought this CD because of 'Ayre' and this is what this is review is about. However, I also liked the folk songs by Berio and I give this CD 4 stars overall (4,5 for Ayre).

Lucid and Dazzling. That's all there is to say. Lucid and dazzling.

Golijov takes a good hard long look at Berio's 'Folk Songs,' thinks about what he'd do differently, and does it. Ayre is one of the most creative collections of multi-lingual, international, inter-faith, inter-cultural mosaic to enter the musical word. It is motley and mixed. It has dark humor with wicked grins, sentimental sighs and long winding melodies that stay in your head for a day or two.

On seeing a live show of this about two weeks after the CD came out I cried and cried - because not only do we have such amazing and moving music in this piece, it is music that - in its mediterranean hodge-podge - gives us a reminder of how beautiful the world would be if we'd all sing with, instead of shoot at, each other.

And the Berio - well, I thought Berberian's recording from the 70's was it. But Dawn, well, she just gets certain subtleties and colors that Cathy couldn't. And Ms. Upshaw can growl, scream, laugh, mock, and dream just as good as Cathy could.

A good CD for fall. A great gift for those of extra-ecclectic taste. An even better musical intro for those that want to see/hear where (I hope) classical music is heading.

So, I ended up buying this album not for the main piece, Golijov's Ayre but for Upshaw's version of Berio's Folksongs. In fact, in the length of time I've had this disc, which has been a couple of months, at least, I never even once attempted listening to Golijov's piece. The truth of the matter was, I kept telling myself I didn't like Goljov - which was silly and contradictory of me since I've always enjoyed Golijov's The Dreams and Prayers of Isaac the Blind. In fact, because I knew I enjoyed Isaac The Blind, I investigated whether or not I'd enjoy Golijov's newly released opera, Ainadamar. After listening to some 30 second samples from Amazon.com, I must admit that I wasn't impressed with what I heard. I also investigated his La Pasion Segun San Marcos only to arrive at the opinion that it, too, was lacking in very many ways. I immediately figured that aside from Isaac the Blind, Golijov's other material seemed bland, unempathetic and largely undeveloped - almost as if he were in a hurry to be prolific!

Well, needless to say, my opinion of him immediately changed when I finally decided to listen to Ayre. From the very first note, I realized it was Golijov from my familiarity with Isaac the Blind and I was instantaneously drawn in. The rhythm was exotic, casual, and yet refined, and the harmony transported me away from 21st century America into a wholly other multi-cultural dimension. The introduction holds you in suspense, awaiting what's next, and then gradually shifts into mode encompassed by Jewish and Arabesque tones and colors. Upshaw's singing is so evocative and pronounced that, just like in her performance of Gorecki's "Symphony No. 3," she doesn't spare any emotion in her performance. Her voice alone adds so much texture to these songs!

The song cycle ranges from the beautiful to the absurd, at times, with Upshaw's singing leading the way. And while the music itself often appears to move from place to place, never seeming to touch the same place twice, there is actually so much cohsiveness between each song that it's impossible not to realize these songs rely upon each other for their strength and viability just like any other architectural composition.

Some people harangue Golijov for being a popular living composer, often berating him with fallible characterizations. Some even claim he isn't original and is only recycling what's come before in order to put himself among the ranks of Mozart, Mahler, and Shostakovich. As one reviewer belows states, Golijov is considered the Brittany Spears of classical. Far from it, as I see it! Golijov's music is no less original than many other composers, including Mozart himself. In fact, it's truly quite difficult to find any composer, living or dead, who was not inspired or did not find their cue from music that preceded them. Golijov may take certain themes borrowed from previous composers (such as composing a song cycle based on Berio's Folksongs) and incorporate those themes into the larger scheme, but such inspiration is no different than the countless composed renditions of "Variations on a Theme by Paganini."

Don't let overly traditionalist music-lovers stray you away from this release! It's truly what your heart, soul, and ears have been searching for!

I must first say that I have the highest admiration for Dawn Upshaw. Here is an artist, a wonderful singer, who is willing to explore music as varied as can be imagined. From Bach to Schubert to Debussy to Golijov and Saariaho, she illuminates it all with her beautiful voice. She is a true artist and a courageous one, (witness the hostility in some of the reviews here.)

I feel that Golijov is a very important contemporary composer, and this work, with its varied ethnicity and moods is a fascinating journey. To me the second half of the album, folk songs of Luciano Berio, while interesting, is nowhere near as powerful as Golijov piece.

The instrumental group Andalucian Dogs are superb. They accompany Upshaw with boundless energy and virtuosity.

Some of the selections were interesting. One or two, very interesting but overall, so-so. Upshaw is wasted on this one.
Occasionally 'atmospheric'.

This set lends itself to greatly enhancing one's knowledge of the orchestra, instruments in it, and their usage. I am a huge music buff, and I still picked up a great deal I previously did not know. I highly recommend this for all who wish to understand the origin of music, as well as the processes that are employed to create music!

Whether you're a music novice or pro, "The instruments of the Orchestra" is a very worthwhile purchase. The 7 CDs, with a total of 8 hours, are expertly narrated by Jeremy Siepmann. He's a great speaker, very much like the late Leonard Bernstein was. Mr. Siepmann takes you on an unforgetable musical journey covering the origins and use of the various orchestral instruments throughout musical history. The balance between his narration and a wealth of musical examples, which range from snippets to entire movements, is superb. The comprehensive enclosed booklet is excellent and faithfully follows the 7 CDs in content. Even with my 40+ years of music training I still learned new things from this wonderful collection. Considering the excellence of the content, and a cost that translates to about $5 per disc, this collection is a great value. Grab it, you won't regret that you did. Five solid stars!

This boxed set of CD's with booklet achieved all I had hoped that it would. There are good samples of individual instruments and well done commentary on each. The only drawback was that some of the samples were too brief and could have been longer, hoiwever I guess this fits in with time constraints of the medium. It has given me a lot of clues as to future purchases of CD's for listening to individual instruments. Altogeth a satisfactory purchase and a welcome addition to my collection.

I've listened to classical music for years and am interested in composition. I bought this CD set to learn how an orchestra and its instruments work. I thought the CDs would be a nice but boring lecture. They aren't! Not only are they FUN but they are informative as well. I learned a huge amount from each CD and couldn't wait to listen to the next one.

The narrator and writer is a great speaker and holds your attention well. He is definitely knowledgeable. He provides musical examples for each point he makes, so you get to "hear" what he just talked about. I'd say the CDs are about 65% music and 35% narration. You'll learn about the range of instruments, some history, different ways to play them, how they sound, and how they are used in the orchestra. This CD set was a great learning experience and is sold at such a low price!

I recommend this CD for those who want to learn about classical music and those who know about it but are interested in learning more about the inner workings of an orchestra. You'll learn much useful information. For instance, the Rite of Spring (with that eerie start) is written for bassoon! I never knew a bassoon could sound like that but now I do.

The one complaint I have is the last CD. This deals with the orchestra. I wanted more of a tour of how the orchestra has been used through history up to the present. Instead, it was a tour of how different groups of instruments sound. I thought it could have been better. The other 6 CDs are excellent.

I am a trumpet player who has studied under the tutalage of Bernie Nero principle trumpet of the Austin Symphony and am also a graduate of the Juilliard School of Music,therefore I feel that I am in a unique position to coment on the quality of this recording. Although the music assembled for the recording is an excellent combination of contrasting styles, the musical prhasing is not played charicteristically correct for that time period of music,and stylistically lacks cohesivness. None the less it is still a very good recording, that is why I give it a four rating.

The Canadian Brass never disappoints. There are some great arrangements of Baroque classics on this album. It may be hard to imagine an organ piece like Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor played by a brass quartet, but it actually works. Overall, this album is consistent in delivering great music.

You really can't go wrong with any CD by the Canadian Brass; they're such an outstanding group. Because of this, it can oftentimes be difficult to choose which of their CDs to purchase. However, if you are looking for a Canadian Brass CD focused around the more classical aspect of music, "Go For Boroque!" is an excellent choice. Compared to the other CB baroque CD, I feel this one is the better. It has a lot more tracks, and the songs, in my opinion, are better. It has everything from my personal favorite, "We Hasten with Eager Footsteps," to "Trumpet Voluntary," to "Toccata and Fugue in D Minor," which is more closely associated with "Phantom of the Opera." I highly recommend this recording.

I found this album very moving, with tremendously rich vocals and instrumentals. It has a strong sentimentality to its sound, which I found highly appealing. But if you see yourself as above all that, this album will be easy to criticize, as some of the comments below attest.

In my mind, this music is more like show tunes, and less like a classical operatic rendition. And for that, it is quite well done. My favorite song is Bongiorno Principesa (sp?), which is quite moving and deeply romantic. One does not have to know Italian to understand love in song.

If other classical cross-over, such as Andrea Bocelli appeals to you, I strongly suggest you give it a try.

The sound level from song to song is inconsistent. Requiring frequent volume adjustment. Several songs the orchestra overshadows the voices. The songs are beautiful.

This CD has the best selection yet in my opinion for these wonderful voices..It really portrays how well they blend together and also how they accompany the Solos....I find it very relaxing driving and have had this
playing constantly in the car going back and forth to work.....The Music is superb I bought their other CD also which is great but this is THE favourite..I hope you enjoy it..

I bought this CD b/c "Here's to the Hero's" was played at my cousin's funeral. He was killed in a plane crash fighting forest fires in California. The song was so beautiful and very moving, especially at an unexpected funeral, such as this one. It was the first time I had ever heard of them. I love the CD. It's a bit cheesy putting words to all these movie soundtrack themes. (Here's the Hero's is to the theme of Dances With Wolves). However, it is a very nice CD. I listen to it all the time. Actually, I have another CD by John Barry (Movie Themes) that I've had for a long time. After I bought the Ten Tenors, practically every song on here is on that John Barry (Instramental) CD. They just put words to theirs.

I know I will probably get slammed by people for not totally disliking or completely loving this CD. I am in the middle although I lean... overall it is a bit much. Some of the arrangements of this Australian vocal power group could use a little restraint. That being said however, some of the tracks are simply amazing. I am a big James Bond fan and "You Only Live Twice" is powerful. The Queen anthem from the Highlander movies, "Who Wants to Live Forever" is stunning. The Gladiator suite from the movie brings a new dimension with the all-male vocals making it an edgier version. If you are a big fan of movie scores and even bigger popera vocals, this CD is for you. Of course, this CD may be over the top but some of the tracks are worth keeping it on repeat so you may want the options of purchasing individual tracks. That said, turn this up on your stereo system to hear the full power of ten amazing tenor voices on this John Barry-helmed CD.

As I've said in other reviews of music, I don't know the technicalities, but I know what I like. Wynton Marsalis has never failed to delight and, truth be told, I use "In Gabriel's Garden" as background music in the office and to fall asleep to. As smooth or smoother than any trumpet player I've ever heard, and his "Moto Perpetuo" is simply unbelievable.

He rounds out my four favorite classical musicians: Itzhak Perlman, Earl Wild, David Russell, and Wynton Marsalis. How would you like to see all four on stage? A pipe dream: I can't even get tickets to any one of them unless I know four years in advance that they're going to be in town.

Btw, "Classical Wynton" is my all-time favorite Marsalis album.

I have one wish, and can't forgive PBS for not doing this: Wynton had a program for kids about jazz, and after "its run," they never brought it back. I think it should be required in all schools.

It was the first disc that acquaints me with this trumpeter 2 years ago and i was suprised by that the disc brought me more than i ever dared expect from it, probably the artist is not active enough like a professional classical specialist to establish an impression to me as a classical artist from which I would like to expect more and more but this one is stunningly wonderful classical cd,although its sound quality is not preferable to me:the orchestre sounds too timid,afterall the trumpeter Mr Marsalis does not fail in retain my interest in the disc.well I cannot say more for trumpet is a complete musically stranger to me.if there are more classical trumpet music discs coming up.I would look forward to this name.

Wynton Marsalis is a superb musician. His style is bright, pure and exuberant, but he has a tendency to go a little overboard sometimes. In this CD that tendency is particularly evident in his rendition of Bach's Brandenburg Concerto. However, his playing is terribly moving and charismatic and he brings a vitality to these pieces that is seldom present in other performers' interpretations. The repertoire is very varied and the English Chamber Orchestra provide wonderful accompaniment. These versions may be a little flamboyant sometimes, but they are great nonetheless, and Wynton's masterful playing is always worth listening. Very few people can express the sheer joy of making music as intensely as Mr. Marsalis; his renditions of Jeremiah Clarke's works are absolutely marvellous.

Okay, I'll admit Mr. Marsalis may have taken some liberties with the music and made it a little more "flashy," shall we say. However, this IS Wynton Marsalis, and as long he continues to play impeccably on all his albums (this one being no exception), he can do whatever he darn well pleases as far as I'm concerned.

On this recording, Wynton Marsalis produces music from an instrument from which it is difficult for most other trumpet players to get any kind of respectable sound. His mastery of the piccolo trumpet is nothing short of remarkable, to say the least. If you've ever tried to play one, after hearing this you will gain a much deeper appreciation for the man's seemingly limitless talent and potential with both piccolo and regular trumpets.

Yes, piccolo trumpet means some high notes, so if high notes bother you, maybe you should shy away from this one and pick out another one of Mr. Marsalis' spectacular albums.

Conclusion: Why four stars instead of five? Mostly because of the liberties taken with the music. Still unbelievable trumpet playing - worth the price just for that.

3 out of 5 stars Philadephia Brass BAD. New England Brass GOOD........2004-01-17

This CD is a combination of two recording sessions. The 1966 recording of the Philadelphia Brass rates maybe two stars. Not only does the recording itself have a dry, studio sound to it, but the performance of the Philadelphia Brass cannot be recommended. They stomp their way through the loud parts; and the expressive parts are done in a perfunctory manner. It all has a real mechanical, connect-the-dots feel to it. There is a significant amount of imprecision in the attacks. Without checking the original scores I can't say for sure, but I'm thinking that some pieces were transposed into more comfortable keys.

The 1962 recording of the New England Brass is vastly superior. It's a good recording technically (considering the year -- certainly better than the 1966 recording) and a good performance that I'll rate four stars; so the whole CD averages out to three stars. The New England Brass deliver elegant high notes, spirit, and artistic expressiveness that are missing in the Philadelphia boys. This might explain why they are featured second on the CD: Save the best for last! If you are a real stickler for accuracy in Historically Informed Performance (based on whatever definition happens to be in style these days), you might find a few things to criticize. But hey! This was 1962. Cut 'em a little slack and enjoy the show.

Since this is a budget price, I would suggest you look at it this way: You're paying a budget price, so you can ignore in good economic conscience the mediocre part of the CD done by the Philadelphia group and enjoy the part done by the New England group without feeling like you wasted any money.

I bought this CD for track 13. Providebam Dominum by Lassus, and, while that track is a bit of a letdown, the rest of the CD is superb.

This CD offers a range of brass music composed in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. The performance is very clean as far as intonation as well as phrasing and dynamics.

This is a remastering of a 1960's performance, although you can't tell that just by lsitening, as it is free from noise, pops, and hiss. The liner notes weren't updated since the original recording (they attribute the Trumpet Tune to Purcell and not Clark, as it has been discovered recently), but that's not much of a concern, as the recording pretty much speaks for itself.

I was very happy to find a brass recording of Providebam Dominum, but I was a little disappointed by the recording on this CD. Overall, the song is played beautifully and gracefully. However, toward the end of the song there are accented notes that I feel are unnecessarily harsh. The three or four blatted notes in this track is the only blemish on this otherwise great CD.

The rest of the tracks, however, are played very nicely and without any unusually harsh notes. The Purcell/Clark Trumpet Tunes are played especially well, and the addition of the organ for a few tracks is a nice touch.

All in all, this is a great CD, and worthy of any brass music collection. It's not as refined or stylistic as some of the Canadian Brass recordings, but it offers a great deal to the early brass music enthusiast.

Narciso Yepes is my favorite classical guitarist. I was delighted to hear a couple guitar concertos I had never heard before. Ohana, Bacarisse, and Ruiz-Pipo were great discoveries. Again, Yepes is the BEST. Strongly recommended.

The late Narciso Yepes is perhaps my favorite guitarist- Spanish or otherwse. With each of his recordings there is the sense of a madman, master, and poet at one with his instrument. I recently purchased "Guitarra espagnola" and have found endless enjoyment listening critically and as background while I work. This is the perfect "not background music" background music to play when you have guests. You and your guests will find yourself withdrawing from lively conversations to enjoy a poignant, sweet, or sinister moment with the music. This is a compilation of recordings from the past 20 to 30 years. The compositions span from the 17th to 20th century. The quality of the recordings is very good but at times varied. The availability of the compilation is very limited. Get it while you can! I also recommend Alirio Diaz and John Williams.

I cannot recommend this retrospective of just a small amount of Yepes's work highly enough.

No matter what popular and lay opinions may be about Williams, Bream, Segovia, and others, the greatest classical guitarist of the 20th century was Narciso Yepes. It is a pity and a shame that the fear of the older generation of guitarists and their associates made Yepes a marginal figure.

He was a consummate technician and a knowledgeable interpreter of all musical idioms from the Middle Ages through to the height of the 20th Century avant-garde. His playing was characterized by intelligence, sensibility, clarity, power, majesty, poetry, and a devilish ability to separate and sustain contrapuntal lines.

In this box of 5 CDs you will find the definitive performance of Rodrigo's now famous "Aranjuez" concerto, which, incidentally, was first recorded and made famous by Yepes. There are also 2 CDs with rare concertos by Salvador Bacarisse, Antonio Ruiz-Pipo, and Maurice Ohana.

The other 3 CD's contain generally the best performances of the canon of solo guitar works that you are likely to find. The composers include Sanz, Mudarra, Narvaez, Soler, Sor, Albeniz, Granados, Tarrega, De Falla, Turina, Bacarisse, Rodrigo, Llobet, Pujol, Moreno Torroba, Montsalvatge, Ohana, and Ruiz-Pipo.

Every guitarist and every lover of the instrument should own this set. If it is not available, also refer to a similar box set with the ASIN number B00006L6RN or another B000026ZRL.

This is a delightful disc. If you appreciate the technique of Jordi Savall, and the siren sweet voice of Montserrat Figueras, you will be instantly captivated by their daughter.

In what appears to me to be a very personal project based upon moving poems authored by Miguel Marti i Pol (dedication appears untranslated in Catalan), Ms. Savall is invoking a song tradition of harp playing accompanied by the singer which was long ago lost in all but a couple of cultures. It thrives in the rich cultural Catalan region, as is evidenced by Ms. Savall's own compositions.

You too will submit to her enthralling spell.

This CD is okay, but once you have heard one song you have heard them all. The music gets a little repetitive, and Arianna has a bit of heaviness in her voice that I do not personally like. It is a nice CD, but not one that I would listen to over and over again.

Whilst the classical training shines through, her composition often surprises with its contemporary feel (although she nods to her Catlan roots).

Lovers of harp, and young soprano voice need look no further. The lady has some pair of lungs.

Musically this is ocassionally reminiscent of Andreas Vollenwieder although far more minimalist.. but then she starts singing...and quite simply...WOW!

She's so perfectly in control of her vocal instrument, and she's so pitched. How she manages this but still sounds so relaxed, I will never know. I could go on about her technically, but that would diminish her voice, a thing of great beauty.

Worth the entry for "Bella Terra" alone. I look forward to more of this young woman's work.

Arianna Savall proves herself to be quite an accomplished singer, composer, and harpist in this new collection of mainly her own compositions. This is not my typical type of music, but I still listen to it constantly, and I bought it as soon as it was available in America. I'm glad that it is once again available, as it was out of stock for a very long time. Savall's pure straight-tone may not appeal to some classical vocal buffs, but as part of the Catalan early music scene ruled by her parents, Jordi Savall and Montserrat Figueras, straight tone comes natural to her. Her voice is clearer than her mother's and, if somewhat less emotional, it is also more ethereal and her technique is solid. The songs themselves run from Middle Eastern influenced to Catalan folk songs.

I've listened to this cd many times. I am still not tired of it. Yes, in a sense the music is coarse, but that's the kind of music it is - lusty, bawdy, and expressive of an era of high spirits. And that's the way these songs are sung. These are essentially 17th century tavern songs and are sung by people who obviously know what they're singing. These songs should be enjoyed with a flask of beer or a jug of wine.

Who could complain about the fabulous tunes published by Playford... wonderful melodies and truly timeless. Unfortunately, here they are performed in a coarse and unmusical way. This "City Waites" ensemble is NOT the same one that recorded the wonderful "Pills to purge melancholy" of Thomas D'Urfey. The singing here is harsh and badly out of tune. There is scant use of instruments to make up for it or cover it up. Of my set of uncounted CDs, this is one of about 3 that I have listened to only a few times- I literally can't sit through it.

Volume 2 (comprised of 2 CDs) is another first rate compilation of the series' original music and not to be missed by U.N.C.L.E. fans. The liner notes are wonderful and add a lot to ones appreciation of the music.

My only problem is that THE CDs ARE COPY PROTECTED! Considerable work is needed to get the music onto your iPod, if you really want the music in your mp3 collection. This is a major hassle and a surprise, since the first set in the series was not copy protected.

Many of us have always thought The Man From UNCLE had the best music for a TV series ever, and this three double CD release confirms this. Wow! I'd be just happy with one CD, but having SIX (three double CDs packages) is absolutely out of this world, I mean, a lifetime wait come true.

Indeed, this is an unbelievable collection of three double CDs packages with the complete series soundtrack, and I mean the complete music, not a tune is missing.

And this is the ORIGINAL Man From Uncle music. Let me stress the point: this is the four years ORIGINAL soundtrack with the original recordings as they were heard throughout the series, not a no-name orchestra doing personal versions of the stuff. The audio transfer is very, very good, the music from late episodes is even in stereo.

Each individual CD carries over 70 minutes of music. All in all there you have the four TV seasons main titles and all, absolutely all of TMFU unforgetable music.

This is not a chronological release, meaning, all CDs have a mix of music from all four TV seasons. Volume 1 is heavier on early TV seasons stuff, fans of Jerry Goldsmith will love it. Those of us who prefer what Gerald Fried and later Richard Shores did with TMFU music, then volume 2 is mandatory. If you are a fan, you can't miss any of these six CDs. However if buying all three double packages is too much for you, you must go with Volume 2, no questions asked. Volume three is the weakest of them as it brings "suites" and a whole CD with "The Girl From Uncle" soundtrack, but you have a bonus "Open Channel D" beeper.

Each package is gorgeous, each with a glossy color booklet with extensive liner notes with details on how each tune was written to a specific TV series episode and how it was used onwards. You have bios on the composers, on how the recordings were made, even an overview on how many instruments were available in each of the years the music was recorded.

So, throw away your Hugo Montenegro Man From Uncle CD, this is the REAL thing.
