Album Description
Celebrating the FAREWELL WORLD TOUR of the ultimate Classical Superstar. Luciano Pavarotti 'owned' the operatic stages of the 20 th century. No singer before or after him has done so much to bring opera to the world at large. In 2005 he undertakes an extensive Farewell Tour and also celebrates, in October, his 70th birthday. This luxurious package - 2 CDs plus a DVD - is released to celebrate these milestones. CD1 is dedicated to his operatic recordings while CD2 presents him in Neapolitan - and other - songs. CD 2 also includes bonus tracks from Pavarotti's first Decca EP in 1964. The bonus DVD presents highlights from a forthcoming DVD entitled 'The Last Tenor' (with wonderful footage that includes him performing Panis Angelicus in duet with his father) as well as a quirky video clip of Ti Adoro and an all-stops-out performance from Central Park of his signature tune, Nessun dorma. Decca. 2005.
