This seductive must-have will surely please even the most adamant stereophile.
Georgia Rowe, Contra Costa Times, April 1, 2005
Fascinating... works, performed with consummate skill by Del Sol.
Album Description
This landmark CD represents the first-ever complete compilation of string quartet works by American composer George Antheil (1900-1959). Each of these works was composed during a different stylistic era in Antheil's development, and a great deal of historical research was conducted prior to the recording sessions in order to closely match the composer's original intentions. The result is a tour through 20th century music history that will sound both familiar and unfamiliar to concert-goers. The release is accompanied by a 20-page booklet with historical photos and an essay by Italian musicologist Mauro Piccinini.
