This CD is a blessing to have in my collection! The words to each song are listed and I am strict on the words to a song! This Cd has brought me up another level in my Christian walk.

Overall, I really liked this album. But the song El Shaddai is by far my favorite. The energy, enthusiasm and anointing can be felt throughout the song. My spirit is quickened everytime I hear it!

My family and I have truly enjoyed this awesome CD. I have shared this CD with my church family, Praise Assembly Full Gospel Ministries-Del City, Ok, and they love it. We love God and are called to praise and worship Him in Spirit and Truth, this CD allows for one to enter into the LORD's prescence in such a sweet and peaceful way. Many of us are able to relate to the very lyrics of each song. I know that this CD would be a blessing to any one who would purchase it, or simply bless someone with it as a gift. This is my first time experiencing Minister Posey and Praise and I must say I wasn't suprise that Fred Hammond had a part in this project. Again, I say purchased this CD and allow it to minister to your spirit. You will be truly blessed! God's anointing dwells in His prescence through praise and worship.

Paul Wilbur's music is the best of the messianic genre. He has a beautiful voice and the music is always wonderfully orchestrated. The songs convey deep truths about the Lord and move me to tears. I have all of his CDs and each one is a treasure.

I have this album by Maurice Sklar. It has to be one of the best instrumental albums ever. He is talented beyond words. Mr Sklar's music brings into God spresense to worship. Awesome, Really Good. I would recommend this to any Christian/Praise and Worship and Messianic music fan.

5 out of 5 stars Forgotten Gem of Modern Reggae!. . ........2006-09-05

Perhaps because his career subsequently slowed down a great deal after a musical split (and ultimate reuniting) with his home at Penthouse Records and his seemingly vasnishing from the scene for about 4 years, Jahmali's seminal El Shaddai is even more forgotten than some of the reggae classic album from the last decade. And although it has been treated so poorly by history, anyone who has ever heard the album knows how well powerful it actually is.

When 'Mali first came on the scene he came with a lot of fanfare and enthusiasm. His style (although not directly derivative of) was somewhat similar to then recently deceased legend Garnett Silk. And the hype that surrounded him was not very dissimilar at all to that which now surrounds such young singers as I-Wayne and Gyptian, big things were thought for Jahmali. While he may not have had the legendary career (at least to date) which was foreshadowed, if he stopped recording TODAY, he would have left the world with a brilliant piece which is El Shaddai, which has vibes for centuries!

The best tune here is without a doubt the well powerful title track. The track El Shaddai probably shows off Mali's voice to its finest on the entire album also his penchant for writing solid lyrics. While not as prolific as many of his peers, he still can hold his own lyrically. My second favorite tune here is probably the ultra-melodic Dry Bones, very very solid tune.

The second half of the album (with the exception of Conscious Lover) is a complete winner! But without a doubt, the most powerful (even more than the title track) song here is Zion Awaits. The song kind of has a backing of an Afrikan chant, with a nice keyboard (Lenky) laid over the top of it, and its the most beautiful song on the album, sounds like something Jah Cure might sing.

Also check Hungry People and the second hit from the album Politics. Hungry People has that solid solid reggae one-drop vibe that will just have you swaying without even realizing that you are swaying to that riddim.

Overall, this is a pure winner. Looking back you see it is co-produced by Donovan Germain and Lenky who went on to have a great production career himself (from the Diwali). Out of all the niceness that has come out of Penthouse records, with Buju Banton particularly, El Shaddai is one of its finest, its up there with Til Shiloh. Its that good! Now, with VP Records proclivity in ressurecting old albums and releasing them, maybe next year or in the next few years they can bring this hard to find piece back. As a fan of modern roots reggae, consider El Shaddai by Jahmali, MANDATORY!

I love it, and would've given it a 5 star rating, however, his second cd, treasure box, is even better. A great artist became greater. So this is great, Treasure Box is greater. Both are worth the money.

JahMali did a great job on this CD. The opening intro was superb followed by an absolutely exhilerating track El Shaddi(God Almighty, God all-sufficient, Genesis 17:1)Makes me feel like praising JAH again everytime I hear it. Looking forward to a followup album.

Like I said before, not their best effort, but worth a listen. It's moody and lo-fi with overtones of beatlesque reverie. Their sophomore CD, Enemy Hogs, displays a more mature and complex sound and boys choir and stuff.
