A flawless miscellany of Venetian Renaissance music, part instrumental and part vocal. Track 5, Comadrina gaillarda, is one of the most mesmerizing pieces I've ever heard. Altogether this disc is atmospheric, impeccably performed, spellbinding. Also check out other cds by this group (search for "Doulce Memoire"), especially one on the Dorian label called "Folie Douce (Sweet Folly) Renaissance Improvisations"; also a beauty.
