Emile Pandolfi on Chopin; "Ever since Chopin's arrival on the music scene in Paris in 1831, his name has become indelibly tied to the subject of piano repertoire. His brief career of composing, teaching and playing was an interrupted success, notwithstanding his fragile health, until his death in 1849 at the tender age of 39.

To a pianist, Chopin is a dream come true. From the most expressive song-like melodies to the most exciting virtuosic passages, the compositions offer challenges and opportunities that are unlike any others. Chopin's writing, while technically demanding, conforms so beautifully to the natural movement of the hand.
