Album Description
In "Tap With A Twist", Judy Ann Bassing and Steven Mitchell combine their originality and their deep understanding of tap to create sparkling new rhythms for tap dancers. Dancers can keep things simple or create virtuoso displays using these solo piano melodies. This album does not contain vocal instruction or tap sounds. These fifteen original and familiar melodies performed by Steven Mitchell offer a collection of quick and tricky rhythms. For example, "Silver Lining" starts gentle and grows quicker and more outgoing, developing into a mini-production number in 2 1/2 minutes. "Five to Four" contains measures in five & four count while "Billy-A-Dick" and "Crazy Rhythm" are performed in a brisk style.
