Very profound and relaxing.......2007-03-28

The first time I heard Dax Johnson`s music was in Tacoma Mall on a Saturday afternoon in 2000. He was playing his piano by one of the stores and the sound really caught me. I asked where i could find his music and he was selling the cds there and signing it on the spot. Ever since I have these cds I listen to them when i want to chill or when i have someone special at home. The best 2 cds I own.

I picked up a copy of this artists work used for two bucks and can't seem to stop listening. He posseses an extraordinary talent. The more I listen the more I love his music, especially for the sustained tension which is conveyed exceedingly well. It speaks to a deep part of myself. Whats more, for some reason I make a strong connection between his music and certain unspoken realities on the borders of popular consciousness. I can't express just how incredible Dax Johnson's music is, even given a 1000 word forum.

I was introduced to his music by a stranger sitting next to me on Amtrak and because he talked so excitedly about him I was coaxed into putting his CD in my walkman. The guy said he had heard him playing at Nordstrom in a Seattle mall and he went crazy running around the store trying to find out where this indescribably beautiful sound was coming from. Since that day on Amtrak, I had become a great fan of his music and wished his music would grow and he would be recognized for it. His music was what we say as if someone was playing with your heart strings. I wanted to see him in concert so badly and I regret waiting so horribly long to fly to Spokane. Now that he has tragically passed away (at such a young age) it is as if the world has been robbed of immense talent. Oh, the places you would have gone, such a heartbreak. His music was better than words could ever be. You will not regret the journey Dax will take you on with his compositions.....

I first saw him at alderwood mall with my girlfriend. tonight we went to his concert in seatle. It was so excpetionaly good, and i highly recommend attending one of his shows. Not only is he an excellent pianist but he also is a kewl guy who realy cares about music. I hope everyone discovers this talent dax has. Buy his Cd now! or you will be missin out :)

My review is very simple...
2002, when i first heard dax, I was walking through a mall in Clackamas, Oregon on the second floor and just stopped. I had to listen. The only other pianist I had really known at the time were Winston who turned out to be a big influence for Dax. When I heard him do a custom rendition of Colors/Dance by George Winston I immediately felt something in his music. I bought this CD immediately and I can't even describe how it touched my when I heard his music. I have seen him in concert and listen to his CD's over and over and yet the music never dulls. He puts an unheard of passion into his music and I for one, will always be appreciative of it.

I also recommend his second album, The Random and the Purpose, which is one of my absolute favorites. Keep going Dax.
