De Fossa: Trois Quatuors, Op. 19
Editorial Reviews
Album Description
When Francois de Fossa (1775-1849) scored his three quartets, Op. 19 for two guitars, violin and cello, he created a unique combination in the chamber literature of his time. This was possible only because of the radical alterations in guitar construction which took place in his lifetime, giving it expanded harmonic and melodic possiblities as well as increased volume of sound. Every fancier of guitar music or chamber music will find much to admire in this album of rarities.
