Album Description
Oboist Aaron Cohen and pianist Diana Torbert perform 20th Century North American works for oboe and piano. The four pieces featured span more than half a century, from 1931 to 1987. They are stylistically diverse yet distinctly North American in character. The works represent some of the most interesting music composed in North America for this instrumental combination, and this is their first recorded grouping. With the exception of Walter Piston, all the composers featured were involved in the production and recording of this disc.
