What a marvelous voice!.......2000-06-17

This recording is truly a prize. For one thing, there just aren't enough recordings of the great Jan Peerce. This set gives a very good sampling of that great Peerce instrument. The two "La Donna e Mobile"s on this recording are simply fabulous. My personal favorite is the haunting "Machushla". Peerce doesn't give the typical Irish Tenor rendering here, but rather a sumptious full throated rendering with a High B flat to die for at the end. Some other memorable performances on this collection are "Trees", "O Solo Mio", "Alone", "I'm Falling in Love with Someone", and "Mamma Mia". This collection is like a journey through really great singing. Peerce was a one of a kind Tenor. Do yourself a favor and snap up a copy of this set for your collection. A real find!
