Swami Dayananda Saraswati is a Hindu monk in the tradition of Adi Shankara and Veda Vyas. He took Sannyasa in February of 1962, with the commitment to devote his life tot he study and communication of the teaching contained in the Upanishads. Swami Dayananda completed the traditional study of Vendata and Sanskrit under the private tutorship of Professor Veera Raghavacharya, Bangalore Sanskrit College; Swami Pranavananda, Gudiva; and Swami Tarananda, Kailasa Ashram, Rishi - Kesh. His studies which included rigorous training in the Upanishads, Brahamasutras, Sanskrit, and the Pan9ini-Sutras, began in 1953, when he listened to series of talks by Swami Chinmayananda in India for a number of years, while studying with various teachers.
