Album Description
More Music For Quiet Listening continues David DeLucia's series of reflective CDs designed to show off the piano's romantic, tender, and pensive side. The pieces range from the uncommonly programmed Bach/Siloti: Prelude in B minor to the rarely heard solo piano version of Charles Williams sweeping The Dream of Olwen. In between come three delicate Debussy pieces, DeLucia's witty Jubilant Jane and Her Adventures, and little known piano works by Kellogg and Hanson. Particularly interesting are the two arrangements Stephen Hough made of Rodger's contributions to the King and I, sweetly poignant in Hello Young Lovers, and bitingly satirical in March of the Siamese Children. All told, a lovely CD that is a pleasure to listen to.
