Amazon.com essential recording
Mozart's greatest piano concertos bring together so many elements identified with his style that they offer an ideal introduction to their composer's uniqueness. This is especially the case with the well-loved pair Nos. 20 and 21, which were produced in one fertile outburst in 1785. Here you will find both the dramatic flair and the comic high spirits of Mozart's tragic and comic operas, the last symphonies' breadth and polyphonic ingenuity (especially in the lengthy first movement of No. 21), and the conversational intimacy of the chamber music. This recording is one of several collaborations between conductor Jeffrey Tate and Mitsuko Uchida. In the wake of such legendary interpreters as Clifford Curzon, the Japanese pianist established a reputation in the '80s as one of the finest contemporary Mozarteans for her combination of poetic sensitivity and thoughtful involvement. Uchida plays with characteristic poise and never settles for superficial prettiness of sound (notice, for example, the sense of suspense she brings to the extended trill left hovering shortly into the soloist's entrance in No. 21). The restless, tragic momentum of No. 20 glows with inner fire, while Uchida's singing grace of line conveys an almost vocal warmth. There is sympathetic balance of soloist against orchestra (which features superb contributions from the winds), as well as a sure grasp of Mozart's larger structural symmetries. As an alternative to the extremes of period-instrument orthodoxy and romantic excess, this disc belongs in the collection of any lover of Mozart. --Thomas May
Customer Reviews:
The best Concerto No.20 (K466) available.......2007-05-03
I've listened to interpretations from Brendel, Anda, Barenboim, Arrau, and countless others, and I have to say after careful considerations that this version with Uchida and Tate is simply the best. I've noticed that the others all take the 2nd movement too fast, whereas the true beauty is fully revealed when played slower, as it is done here.
Mozart: Piano Concertos Nos. 20 & 21.......2006-11-12
Mozart: Piano Concertos Nos. 20 & 21~ Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is a brilliant recording and Uchida does such a fine job playing the piano the Mozart himself would have been pleased. Jeffrey Tate also does a bang up job and one most give him praise for his fine work on this recording. Mozart's music is so accomplished and refined that only three other composers can even said to come close to his talent and skill (Beethoven, Bach and Wagner). Mozart has the ability to make his music sound very simple and easy to play but if one examines a score for a piece written by Mozart then one realizes the complexity and nuances that Mozart is able to put into his "simple" sounding music. This recording per se is a stroke of true brilliance and I definitely give it 5 out of 5 stars without any reservations whatsoever.
Wonderful!.......2004-05-29
Mozart was one of a kind! Truly beautiful piano work.

Yummy, some delicious moments.......2003-01-12
As the saying goes, "Mozart is Music" and Uchida is Mozart! On this recording, you have two of the most popular Mozart piano concertos in modern performance(that is, played on a very big grand piano--not a fortepiano as they would've been in Mozart's day).
Uchida is crisp and technically correct, though perhaps, as some other reviewers have noted, lacking the passion of other artists' recordings. In the familiar No. 21 ("Elvira Madigan") the cadenzas are Uchidas. In No. 20 the cadenzas are Beethovens--thrilling!
The recording sounds as if it was done in a marble hall of a very grand Chateau, although it was probably done in Waltham Town Hall, London, with some discrete manipulation of the sound. The result is rich and resonant.
I'd personally recommend this for a classical music enthusiast who wanted just one CD of Mozart concertos. But perhaps its even better as a slightly obscure recording to give to a friend who already has a CD by another pianist. It's worth it for the track 3 cadenza alone.
Genial.......2002-01-26
I'm okay with Samantha's comments about the conjuntion betwen orchestra and solo (Uchida). They are in occasions at different intensity or dinamic. Orchestra was a little short. I recommend so the Geza Anda's version of the 21 concerto (sublime).

Extraordinary.......2007-02-15
Géza Anda excels, mainly in the two "andantes" that work beautifully as the soundtrack of the movie. Not to be missed!!
Concerto recordings that would have pleased Mozart himself.......2001-07-10
Geza Anda is not as familiar a name in the world of classical piano as is a Daniel Barenboim, Artur Rubenstein, Vladimir Ashkenazy, or Vladimir Horowitz; however, this recording of Mozart's 17th, 21st, and 6th concertos for piano show that Anda's ability to interpret Mozart is perhaps equal to that of the aforementioned pianists. The recording is splendid. It doesn't sound cold, despite the fact that it once carried a reputation for lacking emotion. Instead it sounds very classical, as Mozart would have liked it to have been played. Critics are so used to everything being interpreted romantically(even if it's not from the romantic period) that they forget that some pieces are not meant to be as utterly emotional as a work by Chopin or Liszt. Anda brings out the beauty and life from these mozart piano concertos and does quite a good job with the orchestra which he conducts from the piano. I've heard many versions of these concertos, from many stylistically different pianists like Uchida and Argerich. As far as I'm concerned, Anda performs these concertos better than all others, plus his cadenzas are majestic. On top of that, the sound is perfect, sounding as if it were just recently recorded. Plus at midprice, you couldn't ask for more. This CD truly a bargain, and I highly recommend it to anybody looking for a great interpretation of Mozart.
Great Performance.......2000-10-21
Do yourself a favor, and purchase this over the Serkin (Deutsche Grammophon) version. Anda really shines on the Andante of no. 21. Great Interpretation, Great Performance, and Great Value.
The finest performances of Nos. 17 and 21.......1999-12-26
Geza Anda's performance of Mozart's 21st piano concerto is simply gorgeous. All other performances pale before it. His performance of the 17th concerto is also superb and No. 6 makes a welcome filler. No one who loves Mozart should pass up this disc.
The Best 17 ever!.......1999-08-12
Geza Anda's playing is stellar. After hearing his #17 you won't be able to tolerate anyone else's. Geza Anda was to Mozart what Glen Gould was to Bach. His #21 is beautiful, too.

Bravo! Maestro.......2006-02-16
I am a fan of Mr.Perahia's Mozart Piano Concertos.
This recording is truly exceptional, not only among his Mozart recordings but you may regard this CD the best piano concerto ever recorded!
The sound quality is very good for Sony classical label, which is often edgy and overly bright on revealing audiophile playback system.
I just cannot describe the gallantry and finesse of this remarkable recording.
Music starts where word ends its meaning.
Just listen to Mr.Perahia's playing.
Bravo! Maestro.
The best piano ensemble performance I have heard in years.......2003-10-07
I happened to catch the first half of this CD, piano concerto no. 21, on public radio just now. I had frozen food sitting in my car beside me, but I couldn't leave because I didn't want to miss a note. I sat there for half an hour, not caring that my groceries for the next few days will probably suffer from freezer burn. Every five minutes, I said to myself, "Who *are* you?"
This is truly an amazing performance. So many pianists, being bound to an instrument that cannot be tuned "on the fly" as it were, don't seem to be aware that it is possible to affect tone on the piano, and so their playing sounds 2-dimensional (I would say "flat," but don't want to be misunderstood). Perahia is one of the only performers I have ever heard who does not suffer from this failing. Each note is perfectly executed, and rings like a bell; his playing so fluid, there are no obvious stops and starts between phrases--it is like listening to a bubbling fountain. His blending is perfection; when his part requires a soloist's flair, the notes sing out beautifully without overwhelming the orchestra; when he is supposed to be "part of the group," i.e., not the soloist, he blends so well that he almost sounds like one of the other instruments. At times I could almost swear he had taken up the flute or oboe for part of the performance.
In lauding Perahia, though, let me not neglect to mention the beautiful sound of the orchestra (Chamber Orchestra of Europe). They, too, seem divinely inspired, never overwhelming, perfectly in tune (which is rather rare these days). They, too, are perfectly blended: not a single note sounding either superfluous or harsh. Truly, you cannot separate the orchestra from the soloist in this performance.
I cannot say enough about this recording; on the basis of hearing the first part of it alone, I am giving it 5 stars.
One of the best versions of one of the best pieces of music.......2001-11-30
Given that the Mozart Concerto K 467 is probably my favorite piece of music I do not judge its interpretations lightly. I find the version to be sublime. Mind you my measuring stick is the Andante which must have a good balance between the bass of the orchestra and the piano melody. I like the Concero No. 27 but I don't think it's in the same league as the no. 21., but it's still a beautiful piece of music. Moreover, Perahia is one of the very best Mozart pianists and this version is excellent.
I recommend Mozart's piano concerto no. 9,15, 17, 25, 20, 24 for thsoe whoc can appreciate the intricate contrast of melancholy and more 'optimistic' melodies that Mozart was so good at weaving. I believ that the piano concertos represent Mozart's best work and provide the most accurate glimpse of the man's character. Gregarious and playful but also introverted, contemplative and melancholy. He was truly human. Yet, somehow, these human qualities inspire the divine. if there is a god he is to be found in this music. I'm not exagerating, Listen.. and I challenge you to find an adequate way to describe the music. Goethe, Stendhal, Chopin and countless others tried, but......
Mozart for royalty.......2000-10-28
What a pleasure it is to listen to Perahia's performance of the 21st Concerto after becoming accustomed to a recording on period instruments. Much as I enjoy period performance in its own way, there is just no substitute for the polish and regal finesse of modern instruments. And who better than Murray Perahia to demonstrate the assets of the modern piano, such as its rich but pure tone and the way it permits even scales? The Chamber Orchestra of Europe sounds full-bodied of tone, too, in this excellent recording but they never overwhelm the soloist and always remain stylishly within scale. The performance of the 27th Concerto is no less understanding and clean-lined although I seem to recall that the Serkin/Szell recording for CBS brought out more of its valedictory qualities. These are not the only recordings you will want of these works but they certainly are centrally recommendable.
One of my all-time favorite CD's.......1999-05-01
I love this CD. Murray Perahia is an acknowledged premiere interpreter of Mozart. A must for Mozart fans.

Customer Reviews:
Mostly Magnificent Menuhin, with a Few Reservations.......2004-01-06
The recent trend toward classical box sets focusing on the performer instead of the composer (see my reviews of the various DG/Decca "Original Masters" sets) continues with EMI's new "Yehudi Menuhin - The Violinist." Sure EMI's past sets have showcased individual performances by Samson Francois, Eugen Jochum and Rudolf Kempe to name a few, but it was always under the heading of a given composer's works, and in the cases mentioned above, to Chopin's piano pieces, Bruckner's Symphonies and Strauss' Orchestral Works respectively. Therefore, this Menuhin collection is the first of EMI's "Budget Box Sets" to showcase a performer playing the works of a variety of composers.
As Menuhin was an EMI recording artist for an incredible 68 years (1931-99), his performances for the label number in the hundreds. With so much music from which to choose, this 10-disc set aims "to highlight some of those alternative versions, including recordings that have not been easily available since the days of LP and others that have never previously appeared on CD." Therefore, the obvious mainstream, easily attainable recordings are omitted here -- for example, the Beethoven/Mendelssohn VCs with Furtwangler, the Elgar VC with the composer conducting, and the Bruch/Mendelssohn VCs with Susskind and Kurtz.
However, a lot of this material has been on disc before on titles which the serious collector most likely already owns. Most of the Bach is currently available as part of the Bach "Budget Box Series" title. The Bruch, Mendelssohn, Brahms and Vivaldi VCs were all available in the now out-of-print 2CD EMI Seraphim series. The Elgar and the Walton are still available in the "British Composers" series. And perhaps most annoyingly, the previously unpublished Beethoven VC and Tchaikovsky "Serenade melancolique" (available as a single disc), and the Beethoven Romance No. 2 (available on an EMI Encore title) were both reissued just a few months back.
But let's focus on the positive, which are the other rare performances, the most significant being the never before reissued 1954 performance of Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 4 with John Pritchard and the Philharmonia. Other elusive recordings include Viuextemps and Paganini VCs with Fistoulari, Lalo and Saint-Saens works with Goossens, and excellent Berg and Bartok accounts with Boulez. Though I'm delighted at their inclusion, of lesser importance is a 1965 Bartok VC No. 2 with Dorati -- his mono EMI with Furtwangler and an earlier account with Dorati on Mercury Living Presence are far superior. Also, neither the Sibelius (Boult, 1955) nor Nielsen (Woldike, 1952) Concertos are truly Menuhin's cups of tea.
My last complaint has to do with the packaging. I know I'm being rather trite but it seems that EMI has taken the "slim" out of slim, paper-sleeved box sets with their latest batch of releases. Both this title and the new box of Liszt Orchestral Works by Masur are noticeably thicker than previous EMI sets featuring a similar number of discs. A minor point, but us serious classical collectors need every centimeter of space on our increasingly crowded CD shelves, not to mention the amount of wasted packaging.
Overall though, despite the fact that "Yehudi Menuhin - The Violinist" is not as essential a reissue as its counterparts in the "Original Masters" series, it is a delightful set that most collectors will thoroughly enjoy.

A Must Buy.......2007-07-01
There probably isn't a better disc with three timeless Mozart concertos performed by a world-class artist than this one. I would have to agree with other reviewers that the real hidden gem on this cd is No. 12, incredibly captivating and charming, and this is certainly what the composer intended. In a letter to his father on December 28, 1782, Mozart described this concerto as, "a happy medium between what's too difficult and too easy...Natural without becoming vacuous;-there are passages here and there that only connoisseurs can fully appreciate-yet the common listener will find them satifying as well, although without knowing why."
Despite his masterful manipulation of his listeners during the 18th century and today, concerto no 12 is one of Mozart's most overlooked pieces and it deserves to be played and heard much more than it is. This recording offers a great deal of wonderful music and excellent performances by Jeno Jando for very little money.
Perfect mix of playfulness, sentiment and virtuosity.......2004-12-27
Jenö Jandó and Naxos never cease to amaze. Volume 1 of the Complete Piano Concertos (Concertos No. 13 and 20) was very good, despite my slight reservations about the recorded sound. But Volume 2, recorded only one month later (June 1989), tops the first volume by quite a margin and deserves a full five-star evaluation, being in every way competitive, even among the higher priced CDs with this repertoire. The famous Concerto No. 21 in C Major, used in the film “Elvira Madigan”, is done best of all: the balance between soloist and orchestra is perfect, and Jenö Jandó himself captures exactly the mixture of playfulness and wistful sentiment (along with virtuosity) that this concerto exudes. I suppose most people will want to listen to the Adagio slow movement most of all, and that is, in my humble opinion, remarkably well done, but it should not prevent one from listening carefully to the other two movements, where the Concentus Hungaricus (this time round Naxos managed to get the spelling right: on Volume 1 there were three different versions!) shows itself to be a congenial partner to the brilliant Jandó.
Concertos No. 12 and 14 are equally well done and also deserve more than a peremptory listening. Audiophiles may find that the sound on the Arte Nova recording with Matthias Kirschnereit and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra is a fraction better, but I suspect that 99% of listeners will be perfectly content with this Hungarian version. Full marks to Naxos and the team for a budget-priced production that will give pleasure to many ears for many years!
Delightful performances of superb concertos.......2004-10-20
This bargain-priced CD contains 2 terrific concertos, and one that is also perfectly OK. The gem of the 3 featured is No 12: you already know no 21, the so-called Elvira Madigan concerto, but you will love No 12. Its 3 movements are charming.
Jeno Jando is a great perfomer of many different composers, but I especially love his classical period repertoire.
Highly recommended.
Pay Attention to a Flawless #12!.......2003-02-04
Most people will be drawn to this CD by the well known Andante of the "Elvira Madigan". Concerto 21, to be sure, is flawless. Especially the medium slow andante (which has a tendency to drag in the hands of lesser ensembles, but is graceful and smooth here). I'm writing this review, though, to turn you - the soon to be smitten listener - on to a hidden treasure, overlooked but essential for any die-hard collector of Mozart masterpieces; Concerto #12.
I bought this CD as part of the 5 disc box set of "Piano Concertos- vol. 2" packaged by naxos and I took immediately to this one for its vibrancy, melodicism and beauty that is definitely Mozart at his...well...most Mozart-ish. To give an idea to those unfamiliar, the allegro maestoso is on par with Mozarts finest divertimenti!
And Jeno Jando with the Concertus Hungaricus perform it (not to mention the two others) with the unabashed beauty that it deserves. As with Naxos's entire collection of Mozart piano concertos, this is played in a very classical style. As was typical in Mozarts day, there were not so many tempo or dynamic changes and emphasis was placed on fluidity and melodic beauty - as differing from a romantic, grandiose interpretation. If you like your Mozart perky and fun while still being playfully contemplative (a la his divertimenti and flute & harp concerto), you will love concerto #12 and this CD!! If you, like myself, are already in love with these fine concertos, check out Naxos's collection of Mozarts piano concertos vols. 1 and 2 (this CD being in vol. 2.) Despite the budget price, the sound and performance is beautiful!
A wonderful version of the Elvira Madigan concerto.......2001-04-02
This is one of my favorite versions of the "Elvira Madigan" concerto (No. 21/ K.467) and of No. 14 / K.449. Jeno Jando is an outstanding pianist and he is backed up by an excellent conductor in Andras Ligeti. It is a performance that compares well with higher-priced versions by pianists such as Brendel or Rubinstein. What an excellent bargain!

Caveat Emptor.......2006-04-02
Through what appears to be a manufacturing defect - my copy of this CD wouldn't load into any of my CD players. I was bummed. I never had this problen before or since with any of hundreds of CDs.
Svetlana Stanceva: A Rare Star.......2005-09-03
Everyone's heard of Glenn Gould, Ashkenazy, Rubinstein, Brendel and other famous male pianists. Svetlana Stanceva is a wonderful female pianist and her speciatly was Mozart. Here, she provides a warm, moving rendition of the 21st and 23rd piano concerto. She does the Andante Movement of the 21st the way it should be played - not too slow (it's andante not adagio). She paces herself in the most precise manner. Mozart would be proud. In addition, I do feel it sound romantic and emotional. Besides, some of Mozart's music was merely virtuosic and sprightly for the sake of showmanship and not so much emotion. That rare second movement of the 21st (Elvira Madigan concerto) is the exception. It even comes off as Romantic Era which Mozart never lived to see). Don't bash Svetlana. She's brilliant.
The Best Interpretation of Mozart's Piano Concerti.......2001-08-03
Contrary to the opinion of the reviewer above, Svetlana Stanceva on the piano with Lizzio conducting the Mozart Festival Orchestra is without a doubt the best interpretation of both the 20 and 21 concerti. You will never find a more measured and perfect andante movement of the 21st, made famous in the film "Elvira Madigan". Ashkenazy as my fellow reviewer mentioned does a great performance and I agree. But we cannot dismiss the brilliant elegance with which Stanceva performs. The 20th's allegrois fiery, bold and breathtaking, like something Beethoven would have written and you will be satisfied with this rendition, Stanceva captures the perfect timing from the lingering slow opening to its sonorous change in the key of D minor. The Romanza is touching and for those who have seen Amadeus, it is the music associated with Salieri's bitterness in the asylum in the final scene and the music to the closing credits. Other ensembles and conductors you might want to check out, aside from Lizzio and the on with Ashkenazy would be Sir Neville Marriner's conducting the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields, either the one on the soundtrack(you will hear only the Allegro and Romanza of the 20th) or in its entirety with his recording of the piano concerti. A five star recording ! Three cheers for Stanceva !
Great Piano Concertos, The Worst Possible Performances!.......2000-04-15
I love Mozart and adore his piano concertos. No. 23 is widely regarded as possibly his best piano concerto, and the Elvira Madigan has a very beautiful slow movement. These performances, however, are just terrible. The soloist is dull, the orchestra doesn't sound good, and there's no emotion here. Moreover, the piano and orchestra seem to be playing at different paces throughout. Don't let such a poor performance turn you off from such beautiful music. If you want the real Mozart piano concertos, consider Ashkenazy and the Philharmonia Orchestra.

Murray Perahia's excellent set of Mozart Piano Concertos established his reputation as a master pianist beyond all doubt. He is a true keyboard poet, able to suffuse with meaning even the simplest phrase through sheer elegance of expression and sensitivity of touch. And of all the pianists who also conduct this music from the keyboard, Perahia achieves the most satisfactory orchestral response. You never get the sense that he's cutting the music short because he's got to lift his hands and give a cue. His cycle of Mozart concertos is available in a big box and on separate discs (except for the early Concerto No. Eight-- heaven only knows why). For more than two decades, it's been one of the very best. --David Hurwitz
Amazon.com
Murray Perahia has recorded all of the Mozart piano concertos, and his effortlessly brilliant accounts can be recommended across the board. The playing is on the highest level--vibrant, unfailingly beautiful, wonderfully acute in its grasp of style and expression. Equally outstanding is the work of the English Chamber Orchestra, which Perahia leads from the keyboard. The recorded sound, while not as radiant as the music-making, is consistently good and well balanced from disc to disc. --Ted Libbey

Please don't buy this!.......2002-03-21
My title alone must be self-explanatory. Neither Pires nor Abbado seem to be able to bring to the foreground the remarkable subtlety of Mozart's language. This becomes increasing apparent in the modulations (slow mvmt.from #17, the development in the first mvmt. of #21 or the give-and-take between the soloist and the woodwinds in the last mvmt. of the same), or in their tones. It is brittle and lacking in warmth, sensitivity or feeling. The tempi are uneven, at times too fast, and while Pires may be outgoing, but these are 2 masterpieces for more reasons than that alone. I would personally favor Perahia's recording of #17, and for #21, either Brendel with Sir Neville Marriner (except for Radu Lupu's cadenza to the first mvmt.) or preferably, Kovecevich with Sir Colin Davis and the London Symphony. Unfortunately, the latter is now only available in the UK. As far as the Pires/Abbado recording is concerned, I consigned it to the garbage.
Incredible Perfection !!!.......2001-11-04
I am an amateur pianist who has been studying classical music for over 15 years. I deeply enjoy and admire Mozart's works. To me, he is the greatest genius that ever existed on Earth. I have been studying piano concerto #21 for a few months, and have purchased many different recordings by the most renowned performers (more than 10) during this time.
If you are planning on getting this piano concerto, believe me, this is THE recording you MUST buy. I currently own more than 500 classical music CDs and this one is definitely on the top 1% of the list - it is a genuine jewel.
The things that I particularly like about this recording is: Sound quality is excellent; Maestro Rudolf Serkin's cadenzas performed here by Mrs. Pires are the most beautiful I have ever heard for this concert; and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe under Claudio Abbado sounds extremely rich, very well balanced.
To those of you who are not familiar with Mrs. Pires, let me assure you that she is an excellent interpreter of the works of Mozart, Chopin and Bach, among others. To me, she is among the very best. As I see it, her hands are a true gift from God to humanity. Mozart would definitely be more than pleased with this performance!
Piano Concerto #17 performance was very well described in the review below. Being a live recording it has an exceptional merit. It is also exquisitely performed.
So... Get this recording! I assure you that you will not be disappointed!
Definitive G-Major; very fine C-Major.......2000-11-10
This is the first Pires recording I've ever heard, but it's not my first encounter with Mozart's K. 453. I've never found a recording until now that fully brought out all that I felt was there--I always walked away from a performance feeling there was more to this music than I was hearing. This is in a sense Romanticism in very early bloom, and in some ways the forerunner to such works as Beethoven's own magnificent and peerless G Major concerto. I hate to sound like I'm spewing hyperbole, but simply put this is the greatest recording of this concerto I have *ever* heard. It opened the work for me. (I was beginning to think this was one of those pieces with no satisfactory reading, such as with the Beethoven Ninth and the Mahler Seventh.) Pires and Abbado breathe as one, and "breathe" is the key word. This work is very hard to characterize emotionally, but it sighs and it sings enigmatically. Surprisingly, so many performances are very straightforward, never capturing these soulful, longing qualities that almost approach reverie at times. Not so this time. The interplay here is amazing, Pires' delicate approach is ideal for this music, and the conducting is elastic in that "Furtwanglerian" way. But don't get the impression this is bloated, Romantic Mozart...it's not. (Maybe Furtwangler wasn't the right name to evoke after all. Actually, no name is the right name to evoke. It's a unique statement, but what it shares in common with WF is the realization that certain sections breathe best at certain tempi, and the intellectual rigor and understanding to relate the different tempi and tensions organically to the whole, which Furtwangler had at his best.) Simply put, order this disc. It's from a live performance (though there's no trace of audience noise; DGs engineers are miracle-workers) and it has that special electricity and that feeling of an event that only a great live recording has. The accompanying concerto, the famous No. 21 in C, is a fine (studio) reading, but it is not quite at the top of the heap. The energy level isn't quite there...maybe the lack of a live setting makes a difference. At any rate, while fine, it still won't displace several of my other favorites, including the exquisitely polished Brendel/Marriner. But this disc is definitely worth owning, and would make it to my desert island in a heartbeat.
Great performance for these underrated concertos.......1999-11-20
As usual with Pires, her hyper-crystalline tones make this recording outstanding.
In some recordings she tends to sound a little bit intimidated, but here there is no such a problem. She sounds extrovert and fresh whenever she needs to be in these uplifting concertos.
Superbly recorded sound is also a big plus.
