A Wonderfully Done Collage of Celtic Tunes, Not to be Missed.......2002-09-24

This CD was purchesed in order for me to make a Musical Freestyle, which is a dressage ride (horse sport) set to music. I not only made a Freestyle the judges loved, but I also found a new favorite CD. This CD presents a beautiful collage of Celtic music. Every single song is wonderful, from the haunting "Countess Cathleen" to the perky, upbeat "Steps from the Highlands." Buy this CD, you will not be dissapointed. It is perfect for Celtic lovers, and people who have never heard this type of music before!! Well worth the money!!

A good music ,good sonics.
I particularly enjoyed some traks such as No. 4 in which James Galway plays but also no. 6 and 9 and the others.

First Recording.......2004-07-25

Before becoming a piper myself, this was the first bagpipe recording I ever owned, a birthday gift from my mother at age 16. Now almost 20 years later, after a long career playing myself and collecting other recordings, I still rate this one as my favourite. The sound quality is not great, but the tone and mix seem to capture my idea of a good military-sounding band just right. No fancy kitchen piping, just a lot of good old standards mixed with some light newer stuff. Pipe Major G.S. Allan is such a great tune, this is the only recording I've ever heard of it - and Innes Tartan pulls it off with great skill.
