Scott Joplin on Guitar, Vol. 4 / De Chiaro

Editorial Reviews
Amazon.com
Giovanni De Chiaro is slowly working his way through most of Scott Joplin's rags on his six-string guitar. As his fourth volume makes clear, the results are quite impressive. De Chiaro has a light touch on his six-string guitar, but his transcriptions convey all the delicacy and energy that Joplin's compositions demand. For the most part, these aren't Joplin's best-known rags, but they are fascinating. "Joplin's New Rag" and "Ragtime Dance"--a pair of faster numbers--are standouts. --Jason Verlinde
