This two disc set is a surprise on one level and and a simple pleasure on the other. The surprise is how wonderful the Kuhlau duos and divertisements are--tuneful, rhythmically interesting, demanding, sweet. The simple pleasure is the skill and perfectly matched duet playing of the two flautists.
First rate in the playing, the producing, the music making.

Both flutists play with a matching sound and wonderful interpretive skills. All six of the duos are a flute players answer to Beethoven Symphonies. The Divertissements for flute were excellent as well.
