Full title - Penetrations From The Lost World. Sweden's Dimension Zero is the brainchild of In Flames' guitarists Jesper Stromblad and Glenn Ljungstrom. This is a reissue of their brutal debut from 1996. Re-packaged with new artwork and 11 tracks including 7 bonus tracks, featuring a previously unreleased song, 'Condemned', a Beatles cover, 'Helter Skelter', & 5 live tracks taken from a blistering set on their 2002 tour of Japan, 'Silent Night Fever', 'Not Even Dead', 'The Murder-Inn', 'They Are Waiting To Take Us', & 'Through The Virgin Sky'. Were you disappointed by recent In Flames albums like Reroute to Remain and Soundtrack to Your Escape? Do you wish they would just get back to playing melodic death metal again? If so, you need to check out Dimension Zero.

Dimension Zero is a side project featuring In Flames' guitarists Jesper Stromblad and Glenn Ljungstrom with Marduk's Jocke Gothborg on vocals. You won't find any clean vocals or nu-metal elements here. Dimension Zero is all about furious At the Gates-style melodic death metal, with the emphasis on death rather than melody. This band is sure to please fans of the old school Swedish death metal sound.

Penetrations from the Lost World was the band's debut EP. The original 1997 release featured 5 songs. The 2004 reissue contains one new studio track - a cover of the Beatles classic Helter Skelter - and 5 live tracks. Silent Night Fever is my favorite Dimension Zero album, but Penetrations from the Lost World is as good a place to start as any if you're new to the band.

If you like At the Gates, Hypocrisy, and older In Flames, you'll want to check out Dimension Zero. You won't regret it.
