Vanessa Morman's novel, KONFLICT OF INTEREST, is an interesting read that intertwines romance, mystery, politics and the armed forces. Yaniesha "Yani" Bowe is a United States Air Force Captain that is kidnapped while on vacation because it is believed that she witnessed a murder. Her kidnapper is the gorgeous and ever so dangerous Alec Poore. Yani and Alec marry out of convenience and soon find themselves mutually attracted to one another. Yet, there is a small problem. Instead of being the notorious crime loard Yani thought he was, Alec is revealed to be Agent Quansi Harrington with the FBI. Drama ensues when Yani is not sure who she is married to and when multiple women stake claims to both Alec and Quansi. Both parties are forced to look deep within themselves and within each other to establish trust, a meaningful relationship, and most importantly to stay alive.

KONFLICT OF INTEREST is a well-written novel that is at times slow and a bit far-fetched, but still keeps the reader engrossed through over 400 pages. The story spans over several decades and allows the reader an opportunity to feel a real connection with all of the characters. Morman does an excellent job portraying women and the military in an extremely positive light, while at the same time exposing potential problems within the government and its agencies. I recommend this novel to those looking for an intelligent, yet romantic, action-filled read.

This novel was remarkable, exciting and mysterious from beginning to end. I was deeply involved with two impressive characters: Yani and Alex. Yani because she is sophisticated, sexy, classy and educated which all combined make her a strong confident black woman with high values. Alex on the other hand is handsome, fine, persuasive, stunning and very dangerous but yet a respectful lovable family man. With this character flexibility, you never know what to expect next. Recently nothing has kept this single woman up passed 3:00 a.m. until I started reading this exciting book with enthusiasm. Vanessa you have a great imagination and the book is so satisfactorily detailed that you have made every female and male who have read your book their wildest dream come true. I am looking forward to reading your brilliant novels to come. May you be blessed with all success YOU GO GIRL!

Ms. Vanessa, I don't know if you read any of these but I wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed reading Konflict. I've never read anything like it, yet it's one of the best books I've ever read.You're kinda scary though. Man, you know the scene I'm talking about. Excellent Job. WOW!!! Just as a roller coaster starts off slow going up the hill only for you to reach the top hill & on that first drop,your stomach jumps to your throat, ZOOOM>>>>> now you have entered into the zone & the ride of your life. In, out aroud the loops, ZOOOM>>>>> Ms Morman has carried us on a ride!!! Romance, passion political, suspensful, murder, sexy & then add military action. UNDESCRIBLY DELICIOUS! Konflict will keep you holding on just to see what is coming around the next conner. The writer made the characters feel so real that you knew them and thought you knew what was going to happen next. But NO!! It changed again, hold on tight zoooom>>>>> she hits you again. You didn't see the changes coming. A great writer like Ms. Morman keeps you on the end of your seat wondering which direction the ride will take next. What a great reading experience. Ms Morman has a flair for putting you right in the middle of everything. Then just as you think the ride has slowed again, ZOOM>>>>> off you go again. The love parts are so sexy, hot & steamy. You almost feel the ring of fire as you go through each portion. To look back & realize this was done before 911 and to see some of the terrorism that could be out there it makes you look at the here & now. Hats off to a great read (ride) Ms Morman you did great!!! I look forward to your next book to see how you come up with some new jorneys. P.S. I'm totally in love with Alec.

With this novel, KONFLICT OF INTEREST, Vanessa Morman joins the company of top ranking military novelists. She takes the reader on a sexy, emotional, suspenseful journey filled with action and drama. She gives us a powerful heroine who is three dimensional and passionate about life. I'd say Ms. Morman has a true talent in storytelling, with an uncanny ability to captivate the reader. She is an author to reckon with. Check it out!
