Book Description
The characters in Flying With Angels interweave their lives through a series of heartfelt events. There is the betrayal of partners, the loss of partners through illness and dishonesty and the shifting of sexual identities. Through the help of friends and the healing of time the injured parties move forward finding new loves. Flying with Angels is a classic love story that speaks to the contemporary reader of whatever sexual persuasion. The characters are immediately recognizable as people you know. Andy and Rick go through the break up of a comfortable partnership. Andy is devastated to find that Rick has been cheating on him for over a year. Andy's good friends Laurel and Gerry support him through this distressing time On the edge of the group is Tony, the son of an Italian restaurant owner. He has been engaged to Elaine for almost ten years. Now that the date of his marriage is only days away he is overwhelmed with a feeling that he can't quite define. On the eve of his marriage he becomes party to information that confirms that Elaine is trying to frame him. In disbelief and disgust, Tony finds sanctuary at a beach house that his Property Management firm has handled for years. Andy has recently inherited the house from his grandmother and is taking a long break from the city and his recent break up from Rick to re-evaluate his life. Tony has felt an attraction to Andy since the first time he met him at the house. It is through Andy's gentleness that Tony finally resolves his sexual conflicts. Readers seeking moments of trembling, heart pounding, sweaty palmed sexual encounter will not be disappointed. There is also a good measure of fun, fashion, gossip and good looking waiters depicted within the pages of this novel.

A gay Harlequin Romance.......2007-01-20
"Flying with Angels" in an enjoyable read as long as your expectations are in check. The characters are 2-dimensional, and about half way through the book you already know where the plot is going. The dialog is written in a sort of "just-so" neoVictorian style, that finds its way inconguiously into all the characters, even the supposedly working-class ones. The "bad" characters, like the protagonist's boss and his boyfriend, are cardboard thin. Still, it has sweetness a sort of innocence about it that made it an enjoyable if very lite read, and sometimes that just hits the spot.
Is that all there is?.......2007-01-15
I was disappointed with this book, and disappointed with some of the reviews found here. Yet, the book had definite possibilities and was interesting; but all the time I was wondering when Andy and Tony were going to meet, let alone get into bed together. It seemed to me that much could have been edited, so that we could have got to the point and had some development of the main characters and their relationship, which does not come until the last pages of the book. I also felt that the attack by Andy's homophobic boss was unrealistic; any employer today would be more discreet for fear of being hit with a lawsuit. What did happen after Andy and Tony spent one night together? I wish I knew.
Not just a Summer Beach Read!.......2006-10-02
When I ordered this and began reading it, I thought it was going to be one of those good summer reads -- the kind you can read while cruising the beach and put down and pick up at will. And believe me there is nothing wrong with a good summer read, however, this book, "Flying With Angels" is much more than that. It is well plotted with very interesting characters throughout. The author cleverly takes several of the antagonists and gives them enough humanity to make them interesting AND likeable, then they are given the fatal flaw that makes them do things that screw up the lives of those around them. I really enjoyed "Flying With Angels" and recommend it to anyone who wants a good read (with just enough sexy scenes to keep it "interesting") I look forward to more books by B.B. Parker and especially I'd like a part two of this one.
Flying with Angels is a page turner!.......2006-06-13
I read this book and was hooked right away. I loved the authors' unique way of telling the story. I found b.b. parker's style of writing very refreshing and was immediately drawn into the characters lives. I couldn't put it down, I had to keep turning the page to find out what was going to happen next. I think the author was brilliant, this was his first book, I loved it and he so left me wanting more!
I'm addicted ... more please, Mr. Parker !.......2006-06-03
15 minutes into the book left me unwilling to put it aside until finished. I eagerly relived together with so many recognizable friends the years of facing often thorny gay issues, sad and happy times. Andy & Rick's failing relationship, Andy's easily recognized professional trials, Jerry's delightfully "over-the-top" yet "knowing" insights, drew me deeper into pages of sheer reading enjoyment. Jerry and Tony, I "remember you" so well, another place, another time. As a romanatic I was fulfilled, yet left wanting more. The steady moving (in every sense of the word) pace and picture-perfect descriptions of people and places never disappointed. Has become great repeat reading. Thank you, Thank you, bb parker

Avoid this book if you are considering this sport..........2003-02-22
This is exactly the type of book one wants to avoid if considering a new sport. It starts with a life threatening crash, goes onto a hard landing that bends struts, and then the propeller flies off.....flying microlights can't be anything like this or they would all be dead...
Irresponsible to say the least...
A GREAT book for anyone interested in flying Ultralights.......2001-12-15
This is a book that will take you into the world of affordable flying.
The book DOES start with a crash, but then goes on to explain what the pilot did wrong - a learning experience. It is a book of real experiences. It takes the reader through some of the best and worst experiences of a person who loves to fly, with the intention of steering pilots away from common pitfalls and toward the pure pleasure of flying lower costing, fun machines.
Microlights, or Ultralights as they are called in the USA, open up flying to those who live on a limited income.
The adventures of the author will make you want to try ultralighting for yourself! Don't miss this one!
