Appears to be a rehash of the DVD.......2007-06-28
Disclaimer: I don't own this book. I own the DVD and I love it. The information and experience I get from watching the video are invaluable and are already making an impact on my life.
That being said, last night I went into Barnes and Noble to see this book on one of the front display cases, and I picked it up to thumb through it to see what was different about the book from the DVD. I didn't find anything. The book contained verbatim quotes from the "teachers" in the film. Which isn't bad, it just didn't add anything.
If you prefer reading, get the book. If you prefer watching it and seeing visual representations of what they're demonstrating, get the DVD. If you want something to listen to in the car or on the subway, get the audiobook. Just your personal preference.
LIFE CHANGING .......2007-06-27
The message of this book is not new. In my opinion most of the messages of this book are similar to Psycho-cybernetics by Maxwell Maltz.
But I love it. I have watched the movie and It's great. It's a simple read and very informative.

Book Description
It's time to revolutionize the way you think about dieting!
Bestselling author Brenda Watson shares the remarkable secret that helped her take charge of her health and change her life forever. Now you can do the same!
The Fiber35 Diet will show you how to lose weight and improve your health by taking advantage of the extraordinary health benefits of fiber.
In recent decades, a change has taken place in America. In contrast to the fiber-rich fruits, vegetables, legumes, and whole grains once prevalent in our diet, we now consume an overwhelming number and amount of processed foods filled with refined sugars and harmful trans fats. As a result, we have almost completely stripped our diet of what is quite possibly the most beneficial nutrient on the planet.
In addition to helping prevent many of the major diseases of our time -- including diabetes, heart disease, and cancer -- fiber helps to increase satiety, reduce hunger, and actually decrease caloric intake.
The Fiber35 Diet will show you how getting 35 grams of fiber every day is the key to losing weight and staying healthy for life. Unlike many of the low-carbohydrate, high-protein diets that currently saturate the market, the Fiber35 Diet is based on scientifically verified techniques clinically proven to help you lose weight. Most important, this diet corrects one of the most dangerous falsehoods of our time: that carbohydrates are bad. The Fiber 35 Diet teaches you a lifetime eating system that helps you shed pounds safely and effectively.
This book includes:
-
Straightforward, easy-to-understand concepts that have been researched in detail and clinically proven.
-
A personalized weight loss formula based on how many pounds you want to lose.
-
Recommendations about dietary supplements and nutritious food choices.
-
Healthful and fiber-rich recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks.
- A comprehensive
strength and cardio training program designed to help you maintain your ideal body weight.
Twenty years ago, author Brenda Watson was overweight, chronically tired, and battling constant health problems. Today she inspires hundreds of thousands of people just like you with her story of personal transformation. By starting the Fiber35 Diet, you are taking the first step on your own journey.

Tried and True.......2007-06-27
When my wife and I started this diet about a month ago we were both overweight. I was about 215-220 and I'm 5'11" tall. Now I weigh 193 and I continue to drop a little. My wife has dropped about twenty pounds too, but she won't let me tell you where she started or ended. There is no doubt in my mind that I'm healthier thanks to more water and fiber intake. I highly recommend you give this a chance. I can't see where getting waste out of your gut is a bad thing.
bought it based on the recommendations.......2007-06-15
Definitely some good information here. Recommended.
I've lost 30 pounds and feel GREAT!!!!.......2007-05-21
I love to eat and this diet allows me to eat as much as I want. In fact, sometimes it's just too much food in a day and that's when keeping a stash of fiber bars is handy - we have made the bars a breakfast staple in our home for our hectic weekday mornings. I've lost 30 pounds easily and without even trying (that was 5 pounds more than my goal weight) and without once feeling hungry. The Renew Life fiber bars are very tasty - even my toddler loves them. She doesn't like many foods at all so that's saying something! As an additional perk of the Fiber 35 Diet, my skin is probably 80% clearer and brighter than before I began the diet. I feel good all over, inside and out and I highly recommend Brenda Watson's book and the Renew Life products.
Imortant nutritional life information!.......2007-05-16
This fiber information has really helped me learn to eat better which more importantly, has made me feel better!

Book Description
In nineteenth-century China, in a remote Hunan county, a girl named Lily, at the tender age of seven, is paired with a laotong, “old same,” in an emotional match that will last a lifetime. The laotong, Snow Flower, introduces herself by sending Lily a silk fan on which she’s painted a poem in nu shu, a unique language that Chinese women created in order to communicate in secret, away from the influence of men. As the years pass, Lily and Snow Flower send messages on fans, compose stories on handkerchiefs, reaching out of isolation to share their hopes, dreams, and accomplishments. Together, they endure the agony of foot-binding, and reflect upon their arranged marriages, shared loneliness, and the joys and tragedies of motherhood. The two find solace, developing a bond that keeps their spirits alive. But when a misunderstanding arises, their deep friendship suddenly threatens to tear apart.

A lovely journey into the China of the 1800's.......2007-06-27
This story of friendship was fascinating and moving. The secret language of the women of China was something that no one could take away from them and their stories and experiences could be shared with others. The lessons to be learned are numerous. I really loved reading this book and hated the story to end. It was told beautifully.
Captivating.......2007-06-27
The story was fascinating. I have to say it was great place to visit-read about-but I wouldn't want to have lived there. Three cheers for liberation and the abandonment of foot-binding.
I most enjoyed the camaderie of the women.
Fascinating.......2007-06-27
This story was a most interesting - even fascinating - book. It was a sort of historical novel that took place in China. I really enjoyed it even though much of it was appalling because is really is about the way it was.
Loved this book!.......2007-06-27
This was a book that was selected for my book club and we all loved it. It was a super fast read and very entertaining.
Another culture.......2007-06-26
This book gave me insight into a culture that I knew little about. Who would have thought that small feet could change a girls life.

Book Description
A grand and revelatory portrait of Wall Street’s most storied investment bank
Wall Street investment banks move trillions of dollars a year, make billions in fees, pay their executives in the tens of millions of dollars. But even among the most powerful firms, Lazard Frères & Co. stood apart. Discretion, secrecy, and subtle strategy were its weapons of choice. For more than a century, the mystique and reputation of the "Great Men" who worked there allowed the firm to garner unimaginable profits, social cachet, and outsized influence in the halls of power. But in the mid-1980s, their titanic egos started getting in the way, and the Great Men of Lazard jeopardized all they had built.
William D. Cohan, himself a former high-level Wall Street banker, takes the reader into the mysterious and secretive world of Lazard and presents a compelling portrait of Wall Street through the tumultuous history of this exalted and fascinating company. Cohan deconstructs the explosive feuds between Felix Rohatyn and Steve Rattner, superstar investment bankers and pillars of New York society, and between the man who controlled Lazard, the inscrutable French billionaire Michel David-Weill, and his chosen successor, Bruce Wasserstein.
Cohan follows Felix, the consummate adviser, as he reshapes corporate America in the 1970s and 1980s, saves New York City from bankruptcy, and positions himself in New York society and in Washington. Felix’s dreams are dashed after the arrival of Steve, a formidable and ambitious former newspaper reporter. By the mid-1990s, as Lazard neared its 150th anniversary, Steve and Felix were feuding openly.
The internal strife caused by their arguments could not be solved by the imperious Michel, whose manipulative tendencies served only to exacerbate the trouble within the firm. Increasingly desperate, Michel took the unprecedented step of relinquishing operational control of Lazard to one of the few Great Men still around, Bruce Wasserstein, then fresh from selling his own M&A boutique, for $1.4 billion. Bruce’s take: more than $600 million. But it turned out Great Man Bruce had snookered Great Man Michel when the Frenchman was at his most vulnerable.
The LastTycoons is a tale of vaulting ambitions, whispered advice, worldly mistresses, fabulous art collections, and enormous wealth—a story of high drama in the world of high finance.
Customer Reviews:
A great book for "warped" people (like myself)!.......2007-06-11
660+ pages about the 150+ year history of Lazard Feres might put most people to sleep. Not me! As someone who actually likes this stuff, I found this book fascinating. The history of big money and finance is actually one of big personalties, and this book gives an inside look at several of the major players. Although tedious at times to read, I made it through the entire book in a couple of days. The most fascinating part of the entire story is simply that money at the levels discussed in this book doesn't seem real--most people could never fathom how corporate finance is conducted. I recommend this book to anyone interested in the subject of investment banking, especially those considering a career in that arena.
Long but worth it.......2007-05-30
extremely long, but it gives you a great description of how an organization rises and falls with the times and the great men who are at the wheel.
Destined to be a Classic.......2007-05-24
Cohan has brought to life a vivid and spellbinding tale of the legendary giants in the investment banking field (Meyer, Rohatyn, David-Weill, Rattner, and Wasserstein) at Lazard, offering a compelling and revealing portrait of the relentless personalities that invented, dominated and defined the last few decades of M&A banking. At the same time, The Last Tycoons is, at its core, a saga of ambition, egotism, greed, vanity and pride of Shakespearean proportions played out on the grand stage of corporate takeovers and national politics.
What emerges is not a noble picture of what these ostensibly "Great Men" purported themselves to be. Instead, it is apparent that at Lazard, the black arts of power and greed were the currency used to exhort and extort men of high ambition and intellect to achieve stature and enormous fees. The long shadow of Andre Meyer (unquestionably a Sith Lord) looms over the Lazard partnership and his protégés and successors, Felix Rohatyn and Michel David-Weill. Meyer was a brilliant financier with no peer with the exception of Bruce Wasserstein and it's fitting and deserving that the story of Lazard begins and ends with these two men. In between, Michel and Felix weave a complex and fascinating legacy of fear and loathing in the intervening decades.
For bankers and professionals in the field, Cohan's detail and emotional and psychological nuances will be tantalizing and relevant. For those aspiring to enter the field, it's a cautionary tale - it's very hard to play on the big stage on Wall St without darkening your soul. This story is destined to be a Classic amongst Barbarians and Den of Thieves
barbarians at the gates of central park .......2007-05-19
maybe the first casualty of wealth is self-knowledge. that is the takeaway from William Cohan's fine history of the fabled lazard freres banking house. in these pages we watch titans of finance gloat and preen while their castle crumbles from corruption and mismanagement.
Its a terrific story peopled with fascinating characters. who wouldn't, after reading this book, want to dine with the formidable felix rohatyn. He fled the Nazis as a boy, rescued New York from financial ruin and ditched Lazard at just the right moment to serve the nation as Bill Clinton's Ambassador to France. His intellect and achievement dominate the book, just as Felix dominated wall street for a generation. His departure from the firm caps the end of "the great man" era in investment banking. In Rohatyn's day only a select handful of wise men could be trusted to guide transactions. Nowadays all you need is armani and a spread sheet.
Even as he maps the tectonic movement in investment banking, Cohan keeps it light with plenty of well-researched dish on criminal investigations, love affairs, fabulous art collections, New Yorkana and the occasional drop to earth by some of Lazard's wax-winged partners. I closed the book -- a whopping 750 pp's -- edified and thoroughly entertained.
Thorough and Completely Entertaining.......2007-05-12
When Bill, an old friend, told me he was writing a book about Lazard, I thought, "Who will care?" I was ignorant. My only obligation was to buy the book, not to read it. Even if I had not known the author, I would not have been able to put this book down. Writing is a lonely pursuit, and the endless thought and organization, the hundreds of interviews on both sides of the Atlantic, the researching and re-drafting, all make the author's dedication, and the reader's, worthwhile.
Lazard was truly the first global Wall Street firm. Andre Meyer, the brilliant global pioneer, comes to life. Felix Rohatyn, away from the deserved platitudes, is complex; Michel David-Weill Machiavellian. Bruce Wasserstein, prototypically capitalist, can exist only on Wall Street. Steve Rattner alone comes across as someone for whom an investment banker would want to work. The rudderless leadership for decades, the infighting among the partners, the lack of organizational cohesion all bar the firm from the top tier. The extraordinary access Cohan had to the principals and many others suggest there was much to tell. Cohan's natural wit and cynicism spice the story.
Some have criticized the author for using secondary sources. As one who did not read many of those articles, I was delighted he included them. That Wasserstein alone did not cooperate further excuses Cohan from consulting secondary sources to complete the tale.

If Christian men are going to change from a pitiful, wimpy bunch of "really nice guys" to men who are made in the image of God, they must reexamine their preconceptions about who God is and recover their true "wild" hearts, writes bestselling author John Eldredge in Wild at Heart: Discovering a Life of Passion, Freedom, and Adventure. Eldredge throws down the gauntlet--men are bored; they fear risk, they refuse to pay attention to their deepest desires. He challenges Christian men to return to authentic masculinity without resorting to a "macho man" mentality. Men often seek validation in venues such as work, or in the conquest of women, Eldredge observes. He urges men to take time out and come to grips with the "secret longings" of their hearts. Although the book succeeds best in its slant toward a male audience, it also strives to help women understand the implications of authentic masculinity in their relationships with men. Eldredge frames the book around his outdoor experiences and appealing anecdotes about his family, sprinkling the text with touches of humor and overlying everything with heartfelt passion. Even as he mixes eclectic ideas about masculinity from popular movies such as Braveheart with classic words from Oswald Chambers, and lyrics from the Dixie Chicks with stories from the Bible, he points to only one answer for men searching for their true wildness of heart. Writes Eldredge, "The only way to live in this adventure ... with all its danger and unpredictability and immensely high stakes ... is in an ongoing, intimate relationship with God." --Cindy Crosby
Book Description
God designed men to be dangerous, says John Eldredge. Simply look at the dreams and desires written in the heart of every boy: To be a hero, to be a warrior, to live a life of adventure and risk. Sadly, most men abandon those dreams and desires-aided by a Christianity that feels like nothing more than pressure to be a "nice guy." It is no wonder that many men avoid church, and those who go are often passive and bored to death. In this provocative book, Eldredge gives women a look inside the true heart of a man and gives men permission to be what God designed them to be-dangerous, passionate, alive, and free.
Customer Reviews:
a good book in spite of its flaws.......2007-06-27
This is a good book--even a great one--in spite of its flaws, some of which have been mentioned here.
I will counter the most obvious ones:
+ Type B males are as manly as types As
(This blind spot leads to more flaws like the ones below.)
+ In praising type A manliness, Eldredge comes across as dismissing Mother Teresa
+ He leaves us with the impression that he sanctions violence uncritically, which concerns me
Other than these and a couple of other lesser ones, I still believe that this book is a necessary corrective.
We, the men in this culture, have been domesticated out of noble passions and
thus becoming vulnerable to lesser, trivial and destructive ones.
Both men and women misunderstand men.......2007-06-25
When a man sets out for adventure, whether through hunting, sailing, mountain climbing, dog sledding, or any other traditionally masculine enterprise, the age-old "battle between the sexes" often rears its head. Many women simply don't understand what makes a man tick - and even though men might know what winds their clocks, they often don't know why. The result is that both men and women misunderstand men. Whether you're a man or woman, this book offers insight into why men are the way they are, and assure us all that it's not only good, but necessary.
Eldredge says, "For after years of living in a cage, a lion no longer even believes it is a lion... and a man no longer believes he is a man." The lesson is that men must relearn what it means to be alive and true to their inner selves, including the individual's right relationship to the woman in his life. This book will do some good toward those ends. It will also help the hunter to understand his passion for the hunt and its proper place in his life. It's worth reading, and it's a small price for what it teaches you about yourself.

this book i gave to my daughter to read before givign to her husband to read. it is a great book
One of the few good books for men.......2007-06-22
Most Christian books for men tend to focus on the sensitive side of the male; the caring, compassionate, loving kind. Nothing wrong with that, but we know as men there is something in our souls that long for adventure. That is where "Wild at Heart" shines. You will not be sorry buying this book for yourself, or if you are a wife, buying it for your husband. It has been an "eye opener" for me, to say the least.
Great Book, a Man's Book!.......2007-06-18
If you are a man or even a woman trying to understand a man... read this book!

Are you just another AFC ("average frustrated chump") trying to meet an HB ("hot babe")? How would you like to "full-close" with a Penthouse Pet of the Year? The answers, my friend, are in Neil Strauss's entertaining book The Game. Strauss was a self-described chick repellant--complete with large, bumpy nose, small, beady eyes, glasses, balding head, and, worst of all, painful shyness around women. He felt like "half a man." That is, until a book editor asked him to investigate the community of pickup artists. Strauss's life was transformed. He spent two years bedding some fine chiquitas and studying with some of the North America's most suave gents--including the best of them all, the God of the pickup "community," a man named Mystery.
Mystery is an aspiring Toronto magician who charges $2,250 for a weekend pickup workshop. He is not much to look at: a cross between a vampire and a computer geek. But by using high-powered marketing techniques he's turned seduction into an effortless craft--even inventing his own vocabulary. His technique sounds like a car salesman's tip sheet: his main rule is FMAC--find, meet, attract, close. He employs the "three-second rule"--always approach a woman within three seconds of first seeing her in order to avoid getting shy. Other tricks: Intrigue a beautiful woman by pretending to be unaffected by her charm; also, never hit on a woman right away. Start with a disarming, innocent remark, like "Do you think magic spells work?" or "Oh my god, did you see those two girls fighting outside?" And finally, the most important characteristic of the pickup artist--smile.
After two years, Strauss ends up becoming almost as successful as Mystery, but he comes to an important realization. His techniques were actually off-putting to the woman he ended up falling in love with. And they never prepared him for actually having a relationship. After a while, he ran out of one-liners and had to have a real conversation. Still, The Game is a great read that may help some AFCs come out of their shells. --Alex Roslin
Book Description
Hidden somewhere, in nearly every major city in the world, is an underground seduction lair. And in these lairs, men trade the most devastatingly effective techniques ever invented to charm women. This is not fiction. These men really exist. They live together in houses known as Projects. And Neil Strauss, the bestselling author, spent two years living among them, using the pseudonym Style to protect his real-life identity. The result is one of the most explosive and controversial books of the year -- guaranteed to change the lives of men and transform the way women understand the opposite sex forever.
On his journey from AFC (average frustrated chump) to PUA (pick-up artist) to PUG (pick-up guru), Strauss not only shares scores of original seduction techniques but also has unforgettable encounters with the likes of Tom Cruise, Britney Spears, Paris Hilton, Heidi Fleiss, and Courtney Love. And then things really start to get strange -- and passions lead to betrayals lead to violence.
The Game is the story of one man's transformation from frog to prince -- to prisoner in the most unforgettable book of the year.

Just the tip of the iceberg.......2007-06-27
A very quick read and entertaining story. However, it just touches on the real 'Game'. If you want to learn specific techniques of a pickup artist, other books/materials have to be purchased. It was definitely interesting having background knowledge of the 'Society', but I'm finding myself looking for more...
Actually a story book.......2007-06-19
this is a story book. Although i almost didnt learn anything from it, considering its size, i could have a good knowledge about who is who in the seduction comunnity and it makes you want to learn the "routines" that Neil is always mentioning.
Go into your purchase with your eyes open........2007-06-18
A lot of the press that this book gets bills it as a "how to" guide to picking up women. This book is not a how to, it's a chronicle. You will not find step-by-step instruction, you will find a story. I won't judge the truthfulness of the story because I wasn't there to observe it. Further warning: you may not enjoy this book if you don't have a slightly machiavellian personality. If you're not at all that way, you'll be disgusted by the events described; if you're more than just slightly machiavellian, you'll be disapointed by the ending. As a story, I find "The Game" to be very good, as a how-to book, it is poor, hence the average rating.
Great all around read. . . .......2007-06-14
I was a little skeptical reading this at first because it seemed like an advice journal. However, once I dug in, I realized the author, Neil Strauss, had some real definition and posed solid points and tips on not just how to pick up woman, but how to pick up an entire room - girls and guys alike. It's a little slow in the middle, but the ending is what really sells the book. Things come together and once you realize that this book is about a way of life, and not just about getting in bed with girls, the message is revealed. Great read!
It's not about pick uping girls. It's about challenge.......2007-06-09
The first time my brother showed me the book and I reed the words '(...) I want you to know that I wasn't running game on you. I was being sincere. Really. You were different' I knew it would be a great book.
I had the privilege to knew some of the guys of the book - including Mystery. I'm not a great fan of the pick up way-of-life, I prefer long terms relationships, but so what ? This is still a great book with great stories.
This is a book of how some geeks go against his fears and achived their goals. Goals that may sound stupid, but were THEIR goals.
For a lot of people this book is about pick uping girls. Not for me. For me it is about challenge.

TAKE WITH A GRAIN OF SALT.......2007-06-01
Although I believe Dr. Rau's philosophy about the direct connection between nutrition and health, I find this diet to be very difficult to stick with and very extreme for an average, healthy person.
It is similar in philosophy to a Macrobiotic diet but the influence is European cuisine as opposed to Asian cuisine. It prohibits the intake of sugar, caffeine, processed foods, alcohol and animal protien, while greatly increasing your vegetable and grain intake. I've done the Macrobiotic diet and I experienced increased energy, vitality, better sleep, better mood, etc. Dr. Rau claims that this is what you'll experience with his diet . However, when I did the detox, I experienced headaches, nausea, and a general feeling of illness the duration of the diet and I feel it was due to the total lack of caloric intake. I do think cleansing the body is a good thing and fasting for one or two days can be beneficial. However, I do not feel his detox diet is a healthy approach for healthy people. His claims are that you will feel better and better as the days go on but that was not my experience. In my opinion, no diet that limits your caloric intake to a few hundred calories a day is good for the body. Nothing extreme is good for the body and his detox is way too extreme.
If you do decide to get this book, some things you should know:
The recipes for the three week plan and the one week intensive detox require a lot of cooking and preparation. Because it is based on the regimen done at his clinic/spa in Switzerland where meals are prepared for you, it's difficult for a regular person's lifestyle and schedule. You would basically have to take a week off from work to start the diet and that is unrealistic for most people. I also found more than a few inconsistensies: Dr. Rau opposes any dairy from cows, but some recipes call for cream and butter! Some of the ingredients are very difficult to come by. One day's meal required chestnuts and since I started the diet in Spring, they weren't available and he offers no substitution. Dr. Rau isn't thorough in his explanation of preparing some of the recipes because one recipe on the restrictive detox, he requires you to prepare a corn chowder, but doesn't explain how you are supposed to prepare the leeks in the recipe since you aren't supposed to saute anything. Dr. Rau suggests that hunger would not be a problem because of the food intake. Well that isn't true. I was very hungry all the time because of the limited caloric intake. Dr. Rau is adamant about following the diet to a tee so these inconsistensies were frustrating and it left me pretty doubtful about his claims and philosophies. I felt like he and his publisher were in a rush to publish the book and get it out and I also got the impression that it was more to promote his clinic/spa in Switzerland.
Would I suggest this book? Unfortunately, no.

Dr Rau's Diet.......2007-04-16
I love to eat and love to cook, enjoying a meal is important at least three times every day. At almost 70 health is a concern, even though I'm in excellent condition and able to maintain my weight and frequent exercise.
Dr. Rau is focused on good food and nutrition. His recipes are easy to follow, inventive, and very appetizing. Some are old favorites and others are new combinations of textures and flavors. A lot of what he says has to do with the quality of life, eating organic fresh vegetables and fruits is a no-brainer. Perhaps we need to be reminded about the many toxic ingredients we regularly put into our bodies and see the many alternatives available to us.
His Swiss Detox diet appears to be a way to establish a personal and individual basis related to one's own body. He addresses allergies, our immune systems, how different foods affect our body and how we can recognize their effects. The factual basis of his work is both scientific and intriguing.
What interests me most are the food choices in his diets, tremendous variety and a rich palette, an opportunity to both eat well and enjoy new recipes. He also recognizes we have a sweet tooth and delicious deserts are included.
FOOD as the first medicine .......2007-04-11
By "changing the inner milieu," as Dr, Rau explains, we can return to optimal health. This book clearly tells the reader why and how that happens...and gives delicious recipes for using the right food to detoxify, rebalance, and strengthen the natural forces within us, thereby not allowing disease to take hold.I recommend this book highly!
Awesome!!!.......2007-04-04
The Swiss Secret is very insightful. The information is good, easy to understand, and it is applicable. I have noticed a positive difference in my health through increased energy levels and reduced acid reflux. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is serious about being healthy and feeling great.
Life saving and delicious too.......2007-04-03
I thought my friend had only months to live. On Dr. Rau's program she's recovered and is more energetic than ever before. This book digs into the complex issues of diet and health with clarity and ease, and the recipes make following the diet a treat!

Book Description
Bishop Jordan has written a stellar work that is guaranteed to free the mentally enslaved, acquit the wrongfully charged, and bring healing to the sick. The Laws of Thinking is not a work for the shallow-minded person. It is demanding and challenging. It is neither intended to be used as the basis for unmerited criticism nor as sermon material for the minister having difficulty receiving a fresh work from the Lord. It was written with a very clear aim: to provoke spiritual thought. Bill Gates' Microsoft, Oprah Winfrey's Harpo Productions, Stephen Spielberg's DreamWorks, and even his own Zoe Ministries all began with a thought.
Every invention, university, book, song, business, home, skyscraper, movie, stage play, and baby began when someone chose to think. Nothing happens without thought. Creation did not happen without God's thought. Bishop Jordan's first objective is getting you to think.

The Law Of Writing.......2007-06-28
The Law Of Writing is my favorite chapter. My favorite principle is Writing Is The Entry Point Of Spirit Into Matter.I quote," each time you put pen to paper or fingers tokeys to write out your ideas, dreams, plans, and goalds, you are admitting Spirit into this realm".The seven chakras are energy centers for your body, focus points where the energy of Spirit both enters and leaves your body, I thank you Bishop E. Bernard Jordan for life changing excellent inspiring book This book has inspired me to embark on my continuing education, and realizing the potential I possess.Keep up the good work.

The Law Of The Word.......2007-06-27
I really enjoyed the book on the Law Of The Word. In order for God to get something to me I had to get rid of a lot things I no longer had use for so more things could come to me. I was comfortabel with a lot of things, but as I decide to let them go. New things began to come me. Thank You Master Prophet for The Law Of The Word.
You must give things up for God to bring more to you !!!!.......2007-06-27
My co-worker and myself had to take a large pay cut this year. I turned the T.V. on one Sunday morning and the master prophet was speaking on chapter 9, The law of the word. It blessed me so much that I reread the chapter and it gave me encouragement that the door was closing to my salary so God can open up another door for me. I have to learn to trust God that He is still in control. I can buy without money. I am thankful for things that God has put in my path from other sources. My employer is not my only paycheck. Chapter 9 has helped me to be still and listen for the inner voice of God so He can direct me to other opportunies. Thank God for this book that we can always go back and review what has been put into writing and receive hope that this is only temporary. My attitude is not bitterness or worry but thankfulness. This book is a reference guide to help you get back on track when you are overwhelmed by to many obstacles. Thank you master prophet for this divine teaching and lesson that I have learned and shared with my co-worker.
The Laws of Thinking: Get Your Copy Now!.......2007-06-27
This is a stella piece of Biblical based Literature. That should be implemented into your life so you can be freed mentally and elevated to the next level in life according to Gods will. This book is by far the best piece of literature I have read other than the BIBLE it self. AMEN

Book Description
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind reveals the missing link between wanting success and achieving it!
Have you ever wondered why some people seem to get rich easily, while others are destined for a life of financial struggle? Is the difference found in their education, intelligence, skills, timing, work habits, contacts, luck, or their choice of jobs, businesses, or investments?
The shocking answer is: None of the above!
In his groundbreaking Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, T. Harv Eker states: "Give me five minutes, and I can predict your financial future for the rest of your life!" Eker does this by identifying your "money and success blueprint." We all have a personal money blueprint ingrained in our subconscious minds, and it is this blueprint, more than anything, that will determine our financial lives. You can know everything about marketing, sales, negotiations, stocks, real estate, and the world of finance, but if your money blueprint is not set for a high level of success, you will never have a lot of money—and if somehow you do, you will most likely lose it! The good news is that now you can actually reset your money blueprint to create natural and automatic success.
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind is two books in one. Part I explains how your money blueprint works. Through Eker's rare combination of street smarts, humor, and heart, you will learn how your childhood influences have shaped your financial destiny. You will also learn how to identify your own money blueprint and "revise" it to not only create success but, more important, to keep and continually grow it.
In Part II you will be introduced to seventeen "Wealth Files," which describe exactly how rich people think and act differently than most poor and middle-class people. Each Wealth File includes action steps for you to practice in the real world in order to dramatically increase your income and accumulate wealth.
If you are not doing as well financially as you would like, you will have to change your money blueprint. Unfortunately your current money blueprint will tend to stay with you for the rest of your life, unless you identify and revise it, and that's exactly what you will do with the help of this extraordinary book. According to T. Harv Eker, it's simple. If you think like rich people think and do what rich people do, chances are you'll get rich too!

Your mind matters...........2007-06-27
Great book. Maybe not new thesis, but it is one that I need to continually check myself. Easy read with powerful results.
Practical Advice plus Reach for the Stars.......2007-06-26
Seldom do books combine down to earth practical advice with a 'reach for the stars" mentality. Harv Eker manages to pull this off and keep you entertained at the same time. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and use many of the techniques on a regular basis. From saving money and learning to think about money in a new way, to rethinking your own mental make up and your self-worth, this book has many great points.
I recommend it very highly. It literally turned my life and my thoughts around.
Great listening.......2007-06-26
The guy had me laughing all the way to Aspen, Colorado. He repeats much of the same stuff I've read over and over. But, he does it in such an entertaining way that I remember his phrases and say them back to myself in certain situations.
In this day and age of historically low savings rates and high consumer debt, it's a great book for young people to read. We do need to be careful not to become overzealous with our obsession with money and keep things in perspective, however.
Browse Through This For 30 Minutes & You'll Realise What An Expensive Piece Of Garbage This Is.......2007-06-18
The back cover on Eker's book proclaims "Give me 5 minutes and I'll predict the rest of your financial life" or something to that effect. Well I'll say "Browse through this book for 30 minutes and you'll realise what an expensive piece of garbage this is."
I brought this book from a bookstrore in India all thanks to the positive and flattering reviews on Amazon. But now I supect that these reviews are fudged up. Maybe Eker or one of his cronies have spent a day writing them trying to mislead buyers. What do I write about the book? Suffice to say it has those zillion times repeated platitudes of "Think Big", "Be committed to being rich", "Focus on opportunities" and making positive affirmations to oneself. But I'd not even call it a good motivational book. Much better motivational books are available in the market (Robin Sharma is a good one). I have wasted my money. Please do not waste yours.
A mystical pep talk with no solid information.......2007-06-17
This book is very light in terms of content, it does not give you any definate strategy, just a lot of stories and anecdotes to pep you up. Of the 17 "wealth principles", many are worthless cliches, although several were sound and worthy of further reflection. The book is really spoiled by the author's reliance of several mystical beliefs, essentially bordering on the basic idea that if you think wishfully about money all the time, the universe will just provide more of it to you. The book is further devalued by the author's constant references to his additional products-I feel ripped out when I pay money for a book and instead of substantive information, I receive advertising. You can flip on the TV anytime late at night and watch advertising for various get rich quick schemes for free.

Book Description
“We're going to raise traders just like they raise turtles in Singapore.”
So trading guru Richard Dennis reportedly said to his long-time friend William Eckhardt nearly 25 years ago. What started as a bet about whether great traders were born or made became a legendary trading experiment that, until now, has never been told in its entirety.
Way of the Turtle reveals, for the first time, the reasons for the success of the secretive trading system used by the group known as the “Turtles.” Top-earning Turtle Curtis Faith lays bare the entire experiment, explaining how it was possible for Dennis and Eckhardt to recruit 23 ordinary people from all walks of life and train them to be extraordinary traders in just two weeks.
Only nineteen years old at the time-the youngest Turtle by far-Faith traded the largest account, making more than $30 million in just over four years. He takes you behind the scenes of the Turtle selection process and behind closed doors where the Turtles learned the lucrative trading strategies that enabled them to earn an average return of over 80 percent per year and profits of more than $100 million. You'll discover
- How the Turtles made money-the principles that guided their trading and the step-by-step methods they followed
- Why, even though they used the same approach, some Turtles were more successful than others
- How to look beyond the rules as the Turtles implemented them to find core strategies that work for any tradable market
- How to apply the Turtle Way to your own trades-and in your own life
- Ways to diversify your trading and limit your exposure to risk
Offering his unique perspective on the experience, Faith explains why the Turtle Way works in modern markets, and shares hard-earned wisdom on taking risks, choosing your own path, and learning from your mistakes.
Customer Reviews:
The DEFINITIVE book on Turtle trading.......2007-06-26
Don't look any further if you want to understand the
rules, tools, and psychology of Turtle trading. Curtis
Faith captures all in Way of the Turtle, which is one
of the finest books on trading available. Van Tharp
wasn't kidding when he called the book "one of the five
best books on trading ever written." Boy howdy...
he wasn't fooling!
From the fly-on-the-wall retelling of how the
Turtles came to be - a story the reclusive Richard
Dennis hasn't told in full even yet - to the blow-by-
blow detail of the trades made famous by the Turtles,
this is THE definitive book on what the Turtles were
about and their methods. And not only is it written
by one of the Turtles, its author was the top-earning
Turtle during his time with Dennis.
The chapters on trading psychology are the jewel
in the crown: insightful and applicable - probably
why Van Tharp has such a high opinion of this book.
Van, an author himself, is one of the leading gurus
in trading psychology. (Van's recent book, the second
edition of Trade Your Way to Financial Freedom, is
also a must-read for anyone serious about trading,
in my opinion.)
Finally, from the horse's mouth comes the story and
techniques of the long-secretive Turtles. There are lots
of imitators out there who think they know why the Turtles
succeeded -- Curtis can tell you why.
This is the ultimate book on Turtle trading (and trend
following for that matter). I said it before and I'll
say it again:
Don't look any further than Way of the Turtle. There's no need.
No Substance.......2007-06-21
The book was philisophical, theoretical, and with little practical value. I was quite disappointed.
Very Informative, but not for the Novice Investor.......2007-06-14
This book provides excellent insight into the trading system that made the Turtles into investing legends. While much of the book centers around technical trade analysis and investor psychology, there are also very interesting segments concerning the day to day activities of the famous investing group. I was impressed that the author didn't use the book as a means to ram his own trading system down our throats. His main point is that each investor should look for a system that is a good match for his or her trading psychology, develop and test that system, and exercise the discipline to follow the system. If you aren't willing to do that, stick with mutual funds or professional money managers.
As a person with little skill in complex math, I found myself to be confused every now and then, but not so much as to make this book a waste of time.
Good Book.......2007-06-04
If you're going to buy a book on turtle trading you might as well do it from someone who was a turtle! Very enjoyable reading. Thanks Curtis.
Over-hyped.......2007-06-04
I wish I had paid more attention to the negative reviews before I bought the book. Although this book does give the Turtle system, that is about all it does. Mostly it is just filler without substance. I think the only people who gain from this book are relatively new traders. For those who are not new to trading but who are interested in the Turtle System, just download the system from the 'net and skip the book. I can almost guarantee that you will learn nothing from the rest of the book. The book is an embarrassment.
