Book Description
Recorded history is a finely-woven magic fabric of intricate lies about events predating the sixteenth century. There is not a single piece of evidence that can be reliably and independently traced back earlier than the eleventh century. This book details events that are substantiated by hard facts and logic, and validated by new astronomical research and statistical analysis of ancient sources.

Accepted History & Chronology Must Be Changed. .......2007-04-09
There is no doubt that history as most know it is a sham, & institution's version of History both University & Church is fradulent & inaccurate. Everything was established with an agenda, The real "Dark Ages" are now when we have access to incredible amounts of information past authorities & more important 'common folk' didn't have but our institutions & educators are slow to evolve because of what has ignorantly & arrogantly been taught for too long. This is on many subjects not just Chronology.
For anyone to question "Why would a Mathematician have anything credible to say of History?" The answer is from Dr. Fomenko's preface in the book: "It would be worthwhile to remind the reader that in the XVI-XVII century Chronology was considered to be a subdivision of Mathematics." These volumes could possibly be some of the most important works to date & should be read by everyone with an interest in History, especially professors & educators who have a duty to the public. I have read both books & must say that 'Chronology 1' has some very eye opening & revolutionary information. Even if these volumes are part true the implications are profound & opens the doors to further investigations & questions which must be done. I speak several different lanquages & must say the logic Dr. Fomenko uses with "inflection" of words & words being read from left to right in one region & right to left in another then written backwards, the removal of vowels & get down to basics of words, or different cities & locations having the same name etc. is correct. Vowel usage has always been optional & varied, actually complicating linquistics & study. The first thing one has to understand is that words never had a fixed spelling in history like we do now, the spelling of words was mutable & regional, as well as names & titles of people were vast, varied & changed, NOTHING WAS FIXED or understood linear. Matters of Life & Death as well as financial profiteering yesterday & today were & are made with ignorant, illogical & conspiratorial views of history & reality, it's time people get closer to the Truth & society collectively grow up.
Very Interesting.......2007-03-07
It is a good proposal and I believe it will mature into something even better in the future. I think it deserves to be read.
History as Science Fiction.......2007-01-10
Anatoly Fomenko has written a very intriguing book, full of pictures, charts, and computer 'proof' of his thesis: backwards of AD900 we don't really know what happened or when. Between AD900 and AD1600 there is more certainty, but there is still a lot of fuzzy ground, and things don't get reliable until we get past the 1600's where the printing press made it very difficult for the perpetrators of this timeline manipulation to change anything that had been committed to print. The Dark Ages did not happen. Books were burned for a reason. One organization has doubled the actual length of its existence by expanding the real chronology. Read why.
I had always wondered why Christ died about AD33 and yet men waited until the 11th century to form the Knights Templar, the Cathars, etc and go after the Holy Land by force. Why the 1000 year gap? Turns out there wasn't more than a 10-12 year gap and he proves it using astronomy. This also implies that the planet is not as old as we have been told, and current Christian and other creationist scientists are already championing that idea without being aware of Fomenko's book. The two groups, creationist scientists and the Russian mathematical analysts corroborate each other. Fascinating.
Of course, all this flies in the face of what we have been told traditionally is the 'proper' chronology of western civilization, and most readers will experience 'cognitive dissonance' in reading this book. It means that our history going backwards from AD1600 becomes progressively more incorrect and unreliable until it cannot be trusted at all... in the space of 700-800 years.
Naturally, the curious, open-minded reader will want to know WHO did this, WHY, and did any of the events we think of as really ancient ever happen?
Dr. Fomenko is a respected scientist/mathematician at Moscow State University who has already answered these questions to the satisfaction of his initially skeptical colleagues. Most of them are now believers, a few still refuse to believe (the usual diehards), and of course the western press has ignored Fomenko's work -- for obvious reasons when you read the book. The ones who perpetrated this chronology ruse have a lot to answer for. They are still with us. That's why this book is a well-kept secret.
I gave the book a 4-star rating because I was unable to check out some of his claims; those I checked were as he said. But if even 1/3 of his claims are true, this punches a big hole in what we think is our history, the meaning of western civilization, our educational process (for repeating the ruse as gospel), and the trustworthiness of the organization that perpetrated this ruse, well-intentioned or not.
This book relates to current research into a Young Earth paradigm, to John Keel's discoveries about our planet, and Fr Malachi Martin's insights (in his now out-of-print books). We are indeed sheep who are manipulated and kept ignorant -- for a reason. While knowing what these men have to say may be the "booby prize" (as in: 'what can you do with this knowledge?'), it will provide interesting reading. Didn't someone say: "...and the Truth will set you free."?? For you to judge if this book contains the truth.
Provocative, appealing and controversial.......2006-08-02
Fomenko has succeeded to convincingly demonstrate the misconception about what "history" factually is... It is fiction and -like we can read and judge for ourselves- no science. It indeed is "make belief" only. I "discovered" Fomenko while studying the "old" history of Al Andaluz, Spain. Having found too many contradictions in available data, having seen too many forgeries as to pretend the importance of christianity for its decline, I ventured out to find Fomenko, who convinced me that we know little if anything for sure of the epoch before the XI-century. However, the integration of the Arabic-Islamic cultural history into the heavily distorted Western fails... There are some attempts to fit "the budding new religion" (Islam) into Fomenko's scheme, but they are too weak to be taken seriously and too often focussing on Turkey as the region where things started to influence the West, which is untrue at all.
Islam certainly was no "new religion" in the X-century. That the highly cultivated Al Andaluz ruler Mohammed-I could have been "mirrored" down in time into some myth about the "illiterate" founder of Islam itself is highly speculative. Nevertheless, Fomenko convinces me about the processes that were involved in forging a christian history. Intriguing and controversial as his books are, I recommend them as to rethink our current position in time and space and simply verify what was claimed. It is a "good" book, but not for bedtime reading... Mundus vult decipi, the world wants to be cheated. Fomenko's readers will understand why.
pharaohs lived in the 3rd century AD.......2006-02-16
Traces of white wine were found in Tutankhamen's tomb however there were no record of white wine in Egypt until the 3rd century AD, 1600 years after the young pharaoh died according to the traditional chronology. http://www.newscientist.com/channel/being-human/mg18925395.400
It can be interpreted as a contribution towards New Chronology theory that pharaohs lived in the 3rd century AD.

Book Description
In Past Perfect, Susan Isaacs gives us one of her most glorious characters ever: bright, buoyant, and borderline luscious Katie Schottland. Katie seems to have the ideal life: a great husband, a precocious and winning ten-year-old son, and a dream job -- writer for the long-running TV series Spy Guys. But all is not as splendid as it should be because writing about the espionage business isn't nearly as satisfying as working in it.
Fifteen years earlier, Katie was in the CIA. She loved her job (to say nothing of her boss, the mysterious Benton Mattingly). Yet just as she was sensing she was in line for a promotion, she was fired -- escorted off the premises by two extremely hulking security types. Why? No one would tell her: when you're expelled from the Agency, warm friends immediately become icy ex-colleagues who won't risk their security clearances by talking to you.
Until that day, Katie was where she wanted to be. Coming from a family of Manhattan superachievers, she too had a job she not only adored but a job that made her, in the family tradition, a Someone. Fifteen years later, Katie is still stuck on her firing. Was she set up? Or did she make some terrible mistake that cost lives? She believes that if she could discover why they threw her out, she might be at peace.
On the day she's rushing to get her son off to summer camp, Katie gets a surprise call from former Agency colleague Lisa Golding. "A matter of national importance," says Lisa, who promises to reveal the truth about the firing -- if Katie will help her. Lisa was never very good at truth-telling, though she swears she's changed her ways. Katie agrees to speak with her, but before she can, Lisa vanishes.
Maturity and common sense should keep Katie in the bright, normal world of her present life, away from the dark intrigues of the past. But she needs to know. As she takes just a few steps to find out, one ex-spy who might have the answers dies under suspicious circumstances. Another former agent is murdered. Could it be there's a list? If so, is Katie now on it? And who will be the next to go?
Customer Reviews:
One star is generous.......2007-06-20
I'm jumping on the "Bleah" bandwagon with this one. I forced myself, literally forced myself, to finish the darn thing. The last thirty pages were excrutiating.
Katie, the main character, is an unapologetic New York snob. The only time I came close to forgiving Ms. Isaacs for this annoying creation was when Katie turned up her nose at livermush in the Carolinas after craving liverwurst in New York. No way an author writes this without irony. If you must read the book, look for this almost throwaway liverwurst/mush vignette and see if it doesn't make you at least snicker.
I, too, love Susan Isaacs, and deeply regret that I bought this hardback.
Get over it!.......2007-06-14
I have to finish a Susan Isaacs book - but as I approached the end of "Past Perfect", I almost wished I hadn't. The single stream of consciousness I have for the heroint, Katie Schottland is "get over it already!". Katie, like most of Isaac's heroines, is interesting, has found her way into a great career in television, and has a strong marriage and great kid.
But she cannot forget the fact that she was fired from the CIA for no apparent reason....a call from a former colleague (that she didn't even like) promises to shed some light on her release, and Katie begins to dig and dig, in a way I can only describe as paranoid.
2 stars instead of 1 for the great character that is Katie's father! I like the fact that Isaacs takes time between her novels (instead of producing one a year) so that she can develop a great story and a sassy heroine. This time, she failed.
A journey with dangerous consequences........2007-06-10
Susan Isaacs' PAST PERFECT receives Randy Kaye's fine actress background and broadcasting strengths are it tells of Katie's ideal life working as a TV series writer. But despite her warm home life and job, Katie misses the excitement and thrills of her former CIA job - so when she gets a call to return, she embarks on a journey with dangerous consequences.
Paranoid New Yorker Plays Spy.......2007-06-02
In this novel by Susan Isaacs Katie Schottland receives a call from a former co-worker, Lisa, of 15 years prior. Katie is too busy to take the call and Lisa says she'll call back the following day, but never does. Katie's quest to find Lisa revolves around the abrupt termination of Katie's 23 month career with the CIA. Lisa says she knows why Katie was fired. This leads Katie to attempt to track down Lisa with the help of other ex-CIA people. She conveniently has access to a former CIA operative who is a consultant for the TV show, Spy Guys, based on Katie's book. This leads her to another ex-CIA guy she flies to see in North Carolina. She is sure Lisa's disappearance is somehow related to their work together over the relocation of three East Germans in 1989.
I found the mystery at the core of the book to be weak. Maybe that is why the book is billed a novel rather than a mystery. At 120 pages in not much had happened except the phone call from Lisa. This sets off a series of paranoid moves by Katie. Her fixation with her firing 15 years prior seems overdone. Her commitment to the idea that it must be a work-related issue that makes Lisa call seems like a guess. Everything seems to fall too neatly into place.
The descriptions of life in New York and with her family are interesting and well-developed. Katie's competiveness with her older sister seems to be what is driving her to determine why she fired. No one in her family had failed like that. Her description of her husband as a good guy rings true, "Adam was smart, good-hearted, polite, and not so much of a workaholic and sports nut that he didn't read actual books." pg 21. I'd recommend this book for a quick, light read where the quality of the mystery is of secondary importance.
Boring.......2007-05-25
I'm afraid I have to agree with the majority of other readers here who were disappointed in this Susan Isaacs novel. Again, I've read all of her other books, and loved or at least liked them all. I'm afraid she's way off the mark here. If you're a huge Isaacs fan, you'll probably go ahead and read it anyway, but you'd be better off passing on this one, for all the reasons others have already described.

A meth lab explodes and an employee has confusing memories.......2007-06-15
Diane Fallon is awakened in the wee hours of the morning by an explosion in the neighborhood. Soon there is an evacuation. As she's trying to leave, an injured and half-crazed youth tries to carjack her. Due to her quick thinking, she gets him immobilized in her car and escapes.
Turns out the explosion was a meth lab in the basement of an apartment building where many of the University students lived. Plus there was a party going on in one of the apartments during the blast. Dr. Fallon and her crime scene investigators begin trying to identify the victims and determine who was responsible.
Other murders begin happening that appear to be connected in some way. Her people are stretched thin trying to keep up with the various cases. Plus the fire investigator gets in their way many times and compromises some of the evidence.
In the meantime, one of Dr. Fallon's museum employees, Juliet, is having anxiety attacks related to an event in her past. Diane is asked to look into it, and soon finds herself in the middle of danger.
I love how this author intertwines multiple cases and storylines. You know they'll all come together in the end. It made it really hard for me to put down this book wanting to see how everything related.
I love Diane and both her museum staff and her crime scene staff. The author has created a great cast of characters for this series.
I like the fact that she manages both as I get a glimpse into both areas. It gives the series a lot of diversity and keeps it fresh.
I look forward to reading the next in the series. Hope it isn't too long before it is published! I highly recommend this book.
Excellent Forensic Anthropology Series.......2007-05-20
The plot has been rather thoroughly hashed out in other reviews except you should know that one review has the plot all wrong. The woman who was having PTSD symptoms DID NOT see her family killed. The boy who tried to hijack the heroine's car did not appear stoned. Also it takes a few days for him to end up dead rather than "not long afterward".
I would like, however, to add my voice that this is a very good book in a very good series. Diane Fallon is a very clever and resourceful character who acts quickly and decisively when the situation demands it. In fact, my only quibble is that she is a little to perfect.
But don't let that put you off reading this very good mystery which takes a handful of threads, all seeming separate, and draws them together into a n exciting conclusion.
Calling all Crime afficionados: Read Beverly Connor!!.......2007-03-14
I have just finished reading this much anticipated book. Beverly Connor's work rates as my 'crime find' for 2006: As an avid reader of serial character crime books ie. Patricia Cornwall, James Lee Burke, Kathy Reich, Janet Evanovich, I'm always on the lookout for similar series. I'm sure a lot of other readers hit the same dilemma - there's only so much a good writer can crank out in a year, so it is deeply satisfying to find another top class crime series. Beverly Connor writes 'forensic anthropology' crime and she does it with great flair. In fact, I'm really flabbergasted that she has not received the acclaim (and the huge monetary contracts I imagine) lauded upon her peers.
Diane Fallon is a strong, believable character working first as head of a museum and also as a forensic anthropologist via the crime lab installed IN her museum courtesy of local politics (sound familiar? see below). Connor has hereby constructed a tenable foundation for what I hope will be a long series. Each book reveals a little more detail about the main character's history, Connor is never repetitive, nor does she ever 'spoonfeed' her readers. I enjoy occasionally having to google some esoteric piece of bone lore or look up a medical dictionary, but neither is this mandatory. The reader can always pick up the meaning from the context. In Dead Past, I got intrigued with 'crystal skulls' for example, something about which I knew nothing.
Dead Past lived up to and exceeded my expectations and I look forward with anticipation to Connor's next book, which will be released in Feb 2008. Yet another long wait and another series to add to the order list! My only slight complaint with this latest book is that it wasn't long enough! That is positive criticism, I'm sure all afficionados of crime series get that same sinking feeling in the gut when they gallop past the half way mark of a good crime book. The pacing of Dead Past however really could have stood another 100 or so pages, it is set up really well with the fire in the meth lab and associated deaths, the investigation centring around this and local politics. Gradually the reader is also introduced to what at first seemed a secondary plot, that of Juliet and her history. The second half of the book wraps everything up a little too quickly, never so that the action is unbelievable, just I personally would have welcomed more of Diane Fallon, her love interest Frank and her co-workers Jin, Neva and David. Connor has interestingly left Mike and Korey pretty much out of this book, I would hope to see more of them in the next as well as some more caving which has featured as Fallon's main hobby in her previous books in the series.
Connor has put a lot of work into constructing a realistic setting with well-developed and interesting characters, people you want to learn more about. The Diane Fallon series has all the hallmarks of a great crime series and I would love to see her books made ACCESSIBLE, they are not even available in Australia at our major bookstores.
Another item of interest: does this museum/crime lab setting seem familiar to anyone else? Connor's series predates 'Bones', Kathy Reichs excellent tv series, which finds Temperance Brennan based in ... a museum (the Jeffersonian) conducting her forensic anthropology with a similar team, with similar sophisticated technology and increasing involvement with law enforcement and even the associated political angsting over the ethics etc of doing so. I just raised an eyebrow at this and wondered if anyone else found it interesting.
Well done Beverly Connor. I am putting you on my permanent order list for new releases which I would prefer to receive as luscious first edition hardcovers or sexy trades than the cheaply packaged little paperbacks that aesthetically do not do the series justice. I would also love to see Connor's work come out with the kind of publicity given the writers mentioned above, she writes her hind end off and the four books so far are all 5-star. Good luck and I hope other crime readers start picking up this series.
Another outstanding mystery by Beverly Connor.......2007-02-13
A 3:00 a.m. explosion wakes residents of the charming Victorian neighborhood. Potentially lethal gas mixes with the smoke and flame causing police to begin evacuation of the surrounding area. As people flee their homes, a half-crazed youth with a gun attempts and fails to hijack a passing car. Desperately, he turns his weapon on the lone woman in a second car and demands she open the door. So begins this latest installment in Beverly Connor's series featuring Dr. Dianne Fallon, forensic anthropologist, head of the Rosewood, Georgia crime lab, and director of the local natural history museum.
Morning finds Dr Fallon and her crime scene technicians sorting through the burned home, recovering the bodies of more than thirty college students who had been attending a party there. Making this heart wrenching recovery even more difficult is the power struggle that erupts between different law enforcement agencies each wanting total control of the scene.
While the evidence is being processed, other murders occur complicating the investigation. Then information comes to light involving a twenty-year-old kidnapping. Dianne Fallon must use all the resources at her disposal to solve these somehow connected mysteries and gain justice for the victims and their families.
Connor's packs a lot of action into this novel while weaving together threads from a World War I legend, a twenty-year-old cold case, and a series of modern day murders. Especially interesting to me is her main character, quick thinking and multi talented Dr. Dianne Fallon. Connor's always includes plenty of forensic information but never bogs down the story line with too much detail. The fast pace and the shifting focus keep the reader's interest until the end.
fantastic investigative mystery .......2007-02-10
The explosion shook the neighborhood waking up forensic anthologist Diane Fallon. The chemicals spewed into the air leads to a full evacuation. At the same time as people leave, an apparent stoned college student tries to hijack Diane's car; thank goodness for child proof locks. However not long afterward she learns her car-jacking culprit is dead and that the explosion was a meth lab, which Police Chief Garnett directs she and her Rosewood Crime Lab investigators to filter through in order to identify the thirty plus dead students.
At the same time she digs through the ruins, a new employee Juliet Price is shook by a real crime cold case TV show that awakens a buried trauma. Eighteen years ago as a little girl she watched a killer murder her family including her. However, the culprit made one mistake, Juliet survived the assault, but her mind shut down what she saw so that she could cope; that is until now. The only problem is the killer saw the show and plans to rectify the error. Soon the case of eighteen years ago and the meth mess will converge with Diane at the vortex.
The latest Fallon investigative tale (see DEAD SECRET) is a fantastic investigative mystery that grips the audience from the opening heated explosion until the final frozen climax. Diane is terrific as she juggles several cases including that of her new employee Juliet. Few writers match the intense suspense of Beverly Connors especially when it comes to her "Dead" thrillers.

Excellent and Fun!!!.......2007-05-28
This was reminiscent of James Rollins, whom I love! It was a fun ride in a book, that I couldn't put down. I do agree with some of the other reviews, in that on one side, it would make a great movie. The other side, and the reason I couldn't give 5 stars, is that I agree with one reviewer, the publisher should do a better job in editing typos and meandering paragraphs that make absolutely no sense, no matter how many times read over. And, then there is one death scene, in particular, that was very disturbing in that it may have just been a spectacular death or a convenient 'out' for a character no longer wanted. I don't think any scientific research went into this ponder. Very distracting for me. But, the all and all excitement of the book and the rest of it made up for the negatives for me.........hence the 4 stars.
Evil versus Good; the battle........2007-05-23
This book highlights; even though you don't know it until the end, the battle between evil and good.
It was well-written, fascinating, and a surprising story about the choices we face as the human race.
What's free will got to do with it? This book will make you think about this question!
Good book!Eva-Christ
Short & Sweet.......2007-04-19
This isn't very long so makes a great quick read. It's out there, but written very well. Descriptions are great, can "see" all the characters well. Very enjoyable. Looking forward to other books by Robinson.
raising the past.......2007-03-25
The book was nothing like his first. The first grabbed you and ran with all the action a reader could want and it held you to the edge of your seat.this book was slow moving and really did not grab you to the very end.
Exciting arctic adventure!.......2007-03-09
This was the first book I have read by this author, but not the last. Raising the Past was super exciting! Great characters (you really care about), a perilous setting (the artic), and so thrilling, you will have to keep going until the very end. I read this book in 2 days, and was sorry to see it end. I highly recommend it to sci fi fans, or anyone looking for a rollicking good adventure. Raising the Past would make a great movie. Movie producers-check this one out.

Book Description
Every Monday night millions of Americans tune into Medium, NBC's new hit drama featuring Allison DuBois, an ordinary woman who helps police solve baffling crimes through her ability to communicate with the dead. What most don't know is that this fictional character is based on a true-life medium named Allison DuBois, who is a consultant to the show. For the past four years, DuBois has been the subject of rigorous scientific experiments conducted at the University of Arizona by Harvard-trained psychologist Gary Schwartz. The Truth about Medium chronicles many of those experiments and reveals hard laboratory evidence that psychic ability and mediumship are real.
Customer Reviews:
Unethical!.......2007-04-24
Dr. Schwartz, I didn't have a choice of rating your book with NO stars, so I gave it one. You should be ashamed of yourself for exploiting Allison DuBois and her work with you. How dare you promise confidentiality and then betray the very person your book is based on?
medium the book.......2007-02-22
i gues i was hoping this was allison dubois story not her private readings...
Facinating!.......2007-01-19
Very interesting! Dr. Schwartz is doing some wonderful research in this area. His controlled envioment (usually tripple blind) speek loudly to the validity of his work. Allison it truly GIFTED!! It's the kind of book that's hard to put down.
Well done, Dr. Schwartz!.......2006-06-13
This is another well-written discourse that does an excellent job to scientifically prove the existence of communication between the living and those who have passed on. Dr. Schwartz chronicles his research in a fascinating and well-documented way that is also entertaining.
Not only does he do justice to this area of research, but he does so in a way that is amusing and easily understood by the average person. While I've studied and done research with Mediums myself in my own work, I find his writing to be the best among so many who have studied the seemingly paranormal conversations between the living and the dead, and his work goes a long way to give credence to what should be a legitimate study and not the fodder of legend and tabloid gossip.
With all the hype surrounding the TV Show "Medium" and "The Ghost Whisperer", etc., this book gives you an insightful look not only into the life of Allison Dubois but the lives of other Mediums and their fascinating talents as well as their philosophy and their ethics. Dr. Schwartz gives us incontrovertible evidence, once again, of the ability of Mediums to talk to the other side and for that, we who believe--owe him a debt of gratitude!
For all those who don't believe, read this book. If it doesn't quell your doubts, it'll at least challenge them and maybe open your mind just a crack to the possiblity that maybe, just maybe, your loved ones are watching over you from the great beyond!

bravo.......2006-04-29
Bravo, Dr. Schwartz for being one of the few scientists willing to get off the afterlife fence. Documented work with mediums is so important to the work. And for those who do not like the book because they do not personally like some of the noted mediums who have been so brave as to come forward and place themselves under the microscope for the public to benefit, shame on you for interfering with this most difficult work. True mediums understand the calling of Spirit and their gifts; and part of the understanding of the higher order of spirit is to only bring positive energy into this physical world. We can only conclude that mediums who bad-mouth other mediums could not possibly be true mediums, or are mediums who have behaved badly (and so spirit has pulled back on their gift). This is truly why Dr. Schwartz must maintain a group of research mediums...so he can continue to find the TRUTH through science. Jealousy and slander have no place in the spiritual world. Ask any REAL medium!

Product Description
`History: Fiction or Science? Chronology 2` is the second volume of the most explosive and astounding tractate on history ever written - however, every theory it contains, no matter how unorthodox, is backed by rock solid scientific data. The book is easy and pleasant to read; it is well-illustrated, contains hundreds of charts, graphs and illustrations, copies of ancient manuscripts, and countless facts attesting to the falsity of the chronology used nowadays. You will be amazed to discover: - That the chronology universally accepted today and taken for granted is simply wrong; - That ALL methods of dating of ancient sources and artefacts known today are erroneous or non-exact; - That there is not a single document that could be reliably dated earlier than the XIth century; The Author refers to the Middle Ages as the Antiquity and proves mutual superimposition of the Second and the Third Roman Empire, both of which become identified as the respective kingdoms of Israel and Judah. Furthermore, he asserts that the famous reform of the Occidental Church in the XI century by Pope Gregory Hildebrand was the reflection of the XII century reforms of Byzantine emperor Andronicus who in his turn identifies with Jesus Christ. The Trojan war counted by Homer happened only as late as of the XIII century A.D. and the great poet actually lived in XIV century A.D. No stone in history of Antiquity is left unturned. Literally. This book is the beginning of a major correction to the chronology we live with.

I don't care what other people say of this book. Those affirmig it's fake, they hadn't ever read it. Or have some special reasons to do so. "Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see..." This book won't make you feel comfortable. It'll make you feel free. It'll make you feel you're "not the only one" to feel you'd been lied to for centuries.
Suprise! Suprise!.......2007-03-22
Here is a serie of books which turns "the whole world" upside down. I learned a lot of it and I hope that a new book from A.T. Fomenko will follow very quick. A absolute must for everybody who is interested in history or even a little bit from it.
Prescient St Augustine?.......2006-02-05
We can so far divide the New Chronology into the following three parts:
a) The verifiable theory that proves consensual chronology wrong with the aid of astronomy, statistics and mathematics;
b) The new chronology hypothesis based on a new understanding of known historical facts and the most likely logical explanation of the most obvious inconsistencies inherent in the official version of history;
c) The history conjectures, that is experimental historical reconstructions based on assumptions that the authors believe to make sense in the light of their research and linguistic parallels - void of ironclad factual support to date.
Fomenko's theory complies with the most rigid scientific standards as a whole:
It gives a coherent explanation of what we already know.
- It is consistent: independent lines of inquiry all lead to the same conclusion.
- The predictions it makes are confirmed empirically.
Fomenko goes by the following axioms:
- Chronology is the basis of history;
- Human evolution has always been linear, gradual and irreversible;
- The "cyclic" nature of human civilization is a myth, likewise all the gaps, duplicates, "dark ages" and "renaissances" that we know from consensual history;
- The accumulation of geographical knowledge as reflected in cartography is a gradual and irreversible process;
- The chronological distance between a given manuscript and the events described therein is proportional to the amount of distortions it contains;
- There is no "useless" information in authentic ancient sources.
Why the mainstream historians do not shower mathematician Academician Dr.Prof Fomenko with thanks and laurels?
The Russians:
Because Fomenko asserts that there was no such thing as the Tartar and Mongol invasion followed by three centuries of slavery, providing a formidable body of documental evidence to prove his assertion. The so-called "Tartars and Mongols" were the actual ancestors of the modern Russians, living in a bilingual state with Arabic spoken as freely as Russian. The ancient Russian state was governed by a double structure of civil and military authorities. The hordes were actually professional armies with a tradition of lifelong conscription (the recruitment being the so-called "blood tax"). Their "invasions" were punitive operations against the regions that attempted tax evasion. Fomenko proves that Russian history as we know it today is a blatant forgery concocted by a host of German scientists brought to Russia by the usurper dynasty of the Romanovs, whose ascension to the throne was the result of coup d'état, charged with the mission of making their reign look legitimate. Fomenko proves Ivan the Terrible to be a collation of four rulers, no less. They represented the two rival dynasties - the legitimate rulers and the ambitious upstarts. The winner took it all! Over some 30 years of controversy, Russian historians have made a most remarkable transition - they were initially accusing the young mathematician Fomenko of anticommunist dissident activity and attempts to deface the historical legacy of Soviet Russia; nowadays the middle-aged mathematician is accused of adhering to "pro-communist Russian nationalism" and defacing the proud historical legacy of Great Russia.
The Westerners:
Because Fomenko blows consensual Russian history to smithereens, successfully removing a crucial cornerstone from underneath the otherwise impeccable edifice of World History. Fomenko adds insult to injury, wiping out one by one the Ancient Rome (the foundation of Rome in Italy is dated to the XIV century A. D.), the Ancient Greece and its numerous poleis, which he identifies as the mediaeval crusader settlements on the territory of Greece, and the Ancient Egypt (the pyramids of Giza become dated to the XI-XV century A. D. and identified as the royal cemetery of the Global "Mongolian" Empire, no less). The civilization of the Ancient Egypt is irrefutably dated to the XII-XV century A. D. with the aid of the ancient Egyptian horoscopes cut in stone. He was the first one to decipher and date all such horoscopes, coming up with mediaeval dates in every case. English historians rage at the suggestion that the history of Ancient England was de facto a Byzantine import transplanted to the English soil by the fugitive Byzantine nobility. To reward the English historians who consider themselves the true scribes of World History, the cover of the present book portrays Tintoretto's Jesus Christ crucified on the Big Ben.
The Chinese:
Because Fomenko wipes out the Ancient History of China outright. No such thing. Full point. The compilation of the so-called Ancient Chinese History is reliably datable to the XVII-XVIII century only. It is perfectly recognizable as the Ancient European history, reworked and transcribed in hieroglyphs as yet another historical transplantation, this time performed on the Chinese soil by the loving Jesuit hands. The Chinese are the next in line to go berserk. Chinese history is inevitably bound to get both more ancient and more eventful, proportionally to the growing involvement of China in the world affairs. Chinese historians will keep on finding valid proof of prehistoric Chinese spaceflights until the Politburo orders them to shut up.
The Arabs:
Too bad. Islam with all its key figures is datable to XV-XVI century A. D. Arabic historians may find consolation in the crucial historical role of the Ottoman Empire in the XVI-XVII century. The trouble is that this empire was initially a Christian state, with Hagia Sophia identifiable as Temple of Solomon, according to Fomenko! We can only guess if the acquisition of Alexander the Great (a Macedonian and a Christian) as the founder of the Muslim World Empire will make Fomenko's theories more acceptable to the Arabic mainstream. He certainly does not spare any holy cows at all, claiming The Stone of Qa'Aba in Mecca to contain the lost Arch of the Covenant.
The Divinity:
Despite of reiterated statement that his theory is all about chronology and not Religion, Fomenko stirs up a whole condominium of wasp nests. His collection of anathemas, fatwa, and other condemnations from all parties concerned is already considerable. Little wonder, considering that the history of religions à la Fomenko looks as follows: the pre-Christian period (before the XI century and JC), Bacchic Christianity (XI-XII century, before and after JC), JC Christianity (XII-XVI century) and its subsequent mutations into Orthodox Christianity, the Catholicism, Islam, Buddhism, and so on.
According to Fomenko we know strictly NOTHING about the events that predate the X century A. D.
St Augustin was prescient when he spoke unto us: "be wary of mathematicians, particularly when they speak the truth."
Something of a disappointment.......2005-09-09
After having read the first volume of this expected series of 7 volumes I was triggered by the thesis of these authors that ancient Greek and Roman history did in fact take place in the Middle Ages. So I started studying medieval history of the Middle East - also known as Islamic history - to find out if the opponents of the ancient Greeks and Romans - the Acheamenid Persians, Sassanids, Scythians, Egyptians, etc. - also have their duplicates in medieval history. My search was disappointing: none of the many medieval Islamic dynasties seemed to correspond to the ancient middle eastern rulers.
However, I did find a close correspondence between Herodotus' Persian kings and medieval events:
- the defeat and capture of an Anatolian king - the Lydian Croesus - by the Persian conqueror Cyrus is identical to the defeat and capture of another Anatolian king - sultan Bayezid - by the Asian/Mongol conqueror Tamerlane;
- the Persian conquest of Egypt by the cruel tyrant Cambyses reds almost exactly as the Ottoman conquest of Egypt by Selim the Grim (note the nickname!);
- Darius the Lawgiver of the Persian Empire looks very much alike to Sulayman the Magnificent, the Lawgiver in Islamic history;
- Xerxes, whose main claim to fame is to be defeated by the Greeks at the naval battle of Salamis, looks like Selim II (the Sot) whose main claim to fame is to be defeated by a Spanish-Italian alliance at the naval battle of Lepanto.
I should have expected Fomenko et al. to arrive at similar conclusions, however, they claim that the Persian kings are the alter egos of the Angevin kings of Sicily whose biographies do not contain the exploits of the Persian kings.
The similiarities I indicate lead to the conclusion that Herodotus must have written his Histories at the close of the 16th century. But this is extremely late, given that Herodotus is "the Father of History", so therefore all other "ancient" histories must have been fabricated even later. Yet, the founders of modern chronology - Scaliger and Petavius - laid their foundations also at the close of the 16th century and had the full corpus of ancient histories already at their disposal.
It seems to me that Fomenko has to address these inconsistencies, maybe in the forthcoming 5 volumes?
Another critique of their book is that the correspondencies between different rulers are often based on a superficial comparison of the biographies; upon a more thorough comparison many details appear that do not correspond at all.
Finally, the authors rely heavily on the works of Gregorovius (1821-1891!!) - his medieval histories of Rome and Athens - as the source of medieval history; these works are - at least in the West - hoplessly outdated and have been superceded by more up-to-date works (for instance, Julius Norwich's trilogy on Byzantine history is not even cited).
Romulus courts Helen, Paris founds Rome, Moses goes to Troy.........2005-07-30
If you agree with Fomenko that Roman chronology is basically the foundation of the entire edifice of global chronology; you would also certainly agree that despite its numerous gaps and inconsistencies, Roman history is the best-documented field of ancient history, and thus a reference scale. But how well is the actual date of the Eternal City's foundation known?
Firstly, Rome is supposed to have been founded by the Trojans who had to flee after the fall of Troy. Some claim Rome to have been founded by Aeneas and Ulysses shortly after Troy had fallen; others are of the opinion that there was an entire dynasty that ruled for 500 years between the fall of Troy and the foundation of Rome.
Well, that's just an innocent 500 years long misunderstanding compared with what heretic Fomenko says, asserts, proves in his second volume: Second Roman Empire, Third Roman Empire, Biblical Kingdom of Israel, Biblical Kingdom of Judah, Holy Roman Empire are stories about basically same events, written from different points of view at different times. The underlying events have actually taken place during xii-xv cy. These histories have been written and perfected by multitude of highly talented humanist and clerical writers of xiii-xvi cy disguised as "ancients" with glorious names like Homer, Pluto, Thucydides etc..Chronology 2.0 beta..
Historians are kindly invited to report the bugs.

Book Description
About the book: What is the connection between lost civilizations, ancient cosmic catastrophes, and extraterrestrial visitations in prehistory? Voices from Legendary Times draws together compelling evidence from archaeology, astronomy, geology, myths, and ancient texts to prove that superior beings from outer space genetically engineered several human races on our planet. . Examines the flaws in the theory of evolution. . Proves that giants were an important, yet now forgotten part of our history. . Explains what really caused the destruction of highly advanced civilizations and continents like Atlantis, Lemuria, and Thule. . Reveals that our ancestors were familiar with flying machines and nuclear weapons. . Shows proof of extraterrestrial contact in the Bible. In the search for lost origins of humanity, Ellen Llyod demonstrates that races of men have inhabited Earth for millions of years, but not all of them were human. Ancient sources describe the past ages as world cycles. The mysteries of the forgotten past reveal that the humans and all living beings have not been created once, but are products of a continuous re-creation process performed and guided by alien gods. Learn why our history is more startling than we could ever imagine!
Customer Reviews:
Poorly written but worth the read.......2007-02-01
This book would be excellent if it were better written. My guess is that English is not the author's primary language. But beneath the annoyingly dropped words (especially "the"), incomplete and awkward sentences, and randomly placed commas is a wealth of substance. The author makes an excellent case that scholars should take cultural myths and legends more seriously, that there are important truths within the stories.
The tour of mysterious sites around the world, along with other evidence of long-lost great civilizations in our distant past, is relatively comprehensive and interesting. Yes, the "ancient astronauts" theory has for some time now been an object of merciless ridicule, but the ever growing body of anomalous evidence, in my opinion, continues to call conventional notions of human origins into question. Although this poorly written book would never suffice in an academic setting, it most certainly can serve well to introduce the reader to related theories proposed by the likes of Velikovsky, Alford, Hancock, Sitchen, and of course the controversial and giggle-factor encrusted popularizer, Erich von Daniken. If one is willing and able to push aside the ridicule, approach these theories objectively (and also tolerate annoying grammatical errors and typos) for the sake of understanding content, buy Voices, for it serves as a very good compilation of evidence proposed supporting ancient astronauts related claims.
Great book.......2006-08-10

Voices from Legendary Times by Ellen Lloyd
I have to be honest from the start, I am not a lover of books that deal with visiting "crafts" from outer space as an answer to the mysteries of the past. Ever since reading Daniken's book I always felt that many statements and claims were made without the evidence to back them up, and yet Ellen Lloyd has done a superb job in uncovering a huge and bewildering amount of
data. This is not just a simple tale claiming that ships landed on the pyramids of Giza, no, this is a really good and clever investigation into hundreds of mysteries, from the Hopi indians to the Maya, oh yes, and a really good read.
There are the infamous authors on extraterrestrial visitation such as Sitchin and Daniken with all their flaws and there are many unsung authors such as Ellen Lloyd who deserve to have their voices heard. The simple reason being that Ellen has done more research and uncovered more enigmas than Sitchin and Daniken put together and all this in one book. From the
moment Ellen steps into the "theory of evolution" she had me hooked because I associated with her as she ripped it to shreds. And then, without blinking she moved headlong into a territory many so-called authors would fear to
tread - Atlantis. In her cleverly deduced assumption there was much more to this ancient tale than previously believed - not least of which involved much more advanced technical abilities in ancient times.
Whatever your thoughts on little green men; whether you think there's something at Area 51 or not, you will be hooked by this well-written book that far surpasses the many other ET books I have read before. This is not a "it happened to me" story, but a really serious investigation into areas academics fear to tread and for that alone Ellen deserves applause.
Philip Gardiner, 2006
Answers all the questions.......2006-06-05
As a true supporter of the ancient astronauts' theory, I find this book a great contribution to this field. For me personally, the AAS theory answers all the crucial questions regarding mankind's past. Who are we, were do we come from, who created us and why?
I hope that Ellen Lloyd will keep up her good work and continue where Däniken and Sitchin left off. I look forward to her next book.

Finally, some answers!.......2005-09-02
I am not a scientist, but I have my questions, too! This book has really attracted my attention! I hoped to find some important answers and I've got them.
The book is written in clear, readily understandable language! The author describes subjects which are very hot today, like lost civilizations, ancient cosmic catastrophes and prehistoric extraterrestrial visitations.
Now I understand much better the whole issue. Connections, all invisible links connecting civilizations that vanished, catastrophes from the distant past and "the gods" - ancient spacemen who helped restore life on our planet.
Logical - that is what I can say about this book. We were not created once but several times. Races were passing away and new come. All was happening over and over again. Our history is so amazing.
The book is great for all of us, who lack a heavy scientific background, but want to hang on.
Read it and judge for yourself!
An amazing work too important to ignore!.......2005-09-01
"Voices from legendary times" does answer some crucial questions and makes us wonder. It's a definite must for all interested in puzzles like the destruction of highly advanced continents and civilizations like Lemuria, Atlantis and Thule; our ancestors' involvement in history of mankind tortured by cataclysms passing through our planet.
What I like most in this book is that it covers so much of the world mythology. I have found some real "pearls" in this book! There are legends, mythological accounts from America, India and Pacific Ocean. All of them gathered together to give a perfect image of that what happened to Earth inhabitants in the very distant past.
No matter of what your religion is, you can make your approach to the crucial issue of our times:
What are we (humans) today with respect to the distant past and future on our planet?
The book is easy to read and understand the complex subject of our existence on Earth.
I recommend strongly this book.

Chilling.......2007-03-22
Peter Robinson grew up in Yorkshire, and is the author of thirteen previous novels featuring Inspector Banks. He is the winner of numerous awards in the United States, Britain and Canada, and in 2002 he won the CWA Dagger in the Library. As I also come from Leeds the background to his stories is something that I have experienced first hand and because of this I have a special affection for his books. However they would be first class crime fiction wherever they were based. This particular novel is one of the author's earlier books in the series.
The scene looks like a typical Christmas in many households, a log fire, sheepskin rug, lights twinkling on the tree, the all is not as it seems. Caroline Hartley, the attractive woman lying on the couch is dead, brutally murdered. Inspector Banks is allocated the case and he soon has more suspects than he can handle. As he looks into Caroline's past he realises that secrecy was a way of life and her death is no different . . .
An excellent piece of work.......2006-10-07
The novel just before this one in the DCI Alan Banks series, _The Hanging Valley_, was pretty lackluster, but Robinson springs back in this one with a major winner. A young woman is found murdered in her own parlor by her lesbian partner, Veronica, a classical recording playing over and over on the stereo. Caroline had been involved in a local amateur theater production of _Twelfth Night_ -- nice bit of irony there, and a plot-point as well if you pay attention -- and the director and the other cast members are all suspects. So is Veronica's ex-husband, so is the husband's current girlfriend, and so is Caroline's emotionally strained teenage brother, all with different and quite reasonable possible motives. The plot becomes more complex but it won't necessarily stay that way, a point the author has the Chief Inspector make several times. Banks is a humane man, not ordinarily quick to judge, and his growing regard for Veronica is very nicely rendered. Also heavily involved is newly-promoted DC Susan Gay -- an unfortunate surname, in the circumstances -- who was only a spear-carrier in the earlier installments. She's young and bright and has a great deal to learn, not least of which is to distrust her prejudices. The writing is smooth, the plotting holds together, the pace and the atmosphere of Eastdale in a rather bleak Christmas season are very well done, and the characterization is excellent. The best of the series so far.
Music Plays A Role In Death in the Moors........2006-07-21
A family secret revealed leads to murder, nothing new to Alan Banks, who grew up in an orphanage and has seen it all on the streets of London. He knew from experience that jealousy, hatred and fear are the prime emotions for murder; they are mankind's primitive emotions and instincts. For years he had loved the city's streets, their energy. Even some of the villains he'd nicked had a bit of class; those lacking class at least had a sense of humor. Then, his marriage failed and anxiety attacks had convinced him that he was dying.
Life dragged on without joy, without love. To escape the slump, he had to run away before it got too late. He relocated to the North of England doing the same kind of detecting. A youngish woman with a shady past was found stabbed to death on December 22. Her visitors that day were varied but seemed to be all women -- not the kind of vicious attack noted for that sex.
Banks looks into her past activities in London where he finds her family (any of whom could be the victim of guilt by association), brother, father and ex-husband. Men perceived things differently; they were unsuited to spotting subtle nuance. They were basically selfish and saw things only in relation to their own egos.
Music is the very essence of life; the Vivaldi record playing over and over was important to the identification of the one who hated Carrie enough to take her out of her misery. It goes back to her youth and the hatred which had festered in more than one of the family.
A bad day of skiing.......2005-08-20
Peter Robinson seems to be one of those unusual authors who improves with experience. While all of his books are enjoyable, Past Reason Hated is one of his early weaker productions. Inspector Banks is his likeable self and it's always a pleasure to read about him. Robinson's details about life in Yorkshire and London are also illuminating. But Past Reason starts strong only to run out of steam in the second half. Still worth reading in the same way that a bad day of skiing is better than a good day at work!
A Must Read!.......2005-03-31
This book is full of suspense, intriguing secrets and a wonderful cast of characters. There are no 'cookie cutter' characters here.
The story moves along at a perfect pace, and the end of the book is both shocking and satisfying. This book and its characters will stay with you long after you've put the book down. It's no surprise that this novel was awarded the Arthur Ellis Award for Best Crime Novel.

Great Book.......2006-11-16
This is the fourth book in a series. (Regarding the Fountain, Regarding the sink, regarding the trees) The children of Geyser Creek Middle school are all working on different summer jobs. Their principal is stressed about the conference coming up and the basement bathrooms need to be cleaned up. The kids turn to Florence Waters who is vacationing in Bath for advice, and solve the crime occuring in their own town. This was great book, the book can be difficult to get into because it is written in all letters, newspaper clippings and memos, but the story has an awesome plot. The book takes the form of the previous books
A fun tale........2006-11-06
Ages 9-12 will appreciate REGARDING THE BATHROOMS, a fun story of a middle school in the process of renovating disgusting basement bathrooms. Summer school students are equally preoccupied - with chasing down escaped convicts. Letters, black and white drawings throughout and an action-packed format lends adventure to a fun tale.

Book Description
It means something to be a client. It means he gets my loyalty, whether he deserves it or not. It means he gets my absolute best for the price of an hourly fee. It means in a world where every person has turned against him there is one person who will fight by his side for as long as there is a battle to be fought.
-- Victor Carl
Author of the acclaimed novels Fatal Flaw, Bitter Truth, and Hostile Witness, bestselling writer William Lashner crafts dark, witty, engrossing tales of suspense involving one of the most intriguing characters of modern popular fiction: Victor Carl.
A defense attorney who lives his life in shades of gray, Victor Carl fights all the right fights for all the wrong reasons. With a failing legal practice, a dead-end love life, a pile of unpaid traffic tickets, and a talent for mixing it up in tough working-class bars and sparring with obstinate cops, Victor skates on the razor's edge of legal ethics in search of the easy buck. But the one absolute in Victor's life is loyalty, especially to a client -- even if he happens to be dead. Like Joey Cheaps, a no-account who takes a knife to the throat down on the waterfront, but not before he shares with his lawyer his part in a terrible crime.
With his client murdered, Victor must search for a killer. But solving the crime means investigating the darkest spot in Joey Cheaps's misspent youth, sending Victor on a twisting journey that leads to a missing suitcase stuffed with money, photographs of a mysterious naked woman, and a Supreme Court justice with a secret to hide. And most dangerous of all, Victor steps into the crosshairs of a vengeful enemy with a past full of pain and a taste for blood.
As thrilling as it is darkly evocative, Past Due is a superb tale of crime and justice that takes the intrepid Victor Carl into brilliant new territory and confirms William Lashner's place among the top suspense writers of our time.

Funny and engrossing.......2007-05-21
I picked up PAST DUE one night on a whim, knowing nothing about William Lashner or his reputation in the mystery genre. The cover caught my eye, and it looked thick, so being the type who prefers more of an epic story, I snatched it off the shelf and perused the first line.
I was hooked. And the book took off from there.
Lashner created a very funny anti-hero in Victor Carl, a sleazy Philadelphia lawyer intent on keeping his word to find a murdered client's killer. Carl's loyalty sees him encounter dangerous thugs of all types, from members of the Mafia to crooked politicians and judges, to drug dealers and their hangers-on. They all put Carl through the ringer, and do so in such smart and funny ways that many times I found myself laughing out loud at what transpired. The mystery is superb, keeping you guessing until the VERY end, and Carl's occasional visits to his dying father in the hospital are funny and touching all at once. All the characters are drawn to perfection, too, making you believe in them and accenting the story with that much more poignancy.
Lashner's chapter endings are among the best I've ever read. So good, in fact, that I absolutely hated when I had to put the book down. So my only qualm with PAST DUE really only concerns the ending. Lashner has a ton of expectation riding on the climax, dispensing with the humor and getting serious as the end approaches. But then, in one fell swoop, everything turns comical again when we find out who's behind it all and why. Needless to say, I felt let down, almost a bit cheated. Seems he wanted to lighten the mood a bit prematurely.
Nevertheless, I still heartily recommend PAST DUE for any mystery, suspense, or thriller enthusiast out there. The story's a funny, intriguing romp that takes you through the highest courts in Philly to the seediest parts of its underbelly. Truly epic in scope, pick up PAST DUE for a good laugh and a good mystery.
