    5 out of 5 stars Incredible Read.......2003-06-21

I couldn't put this book down. It's the best novel I've read all year. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

    5 out of 5 stars A great book.......2003-05-02

This book is a fascinating look at a family's struggle with substance abuse and dysfunction and its affects on the world around them. Each character is so complex and real, I wanted to love them and hate them at the same time! The tone of the novel is quick and poignant, it can be dark, it can be silly, it covers the gamut of human emotion, just as families do in real life. This book moves fast and kept me intrigued until the end. A great summer read!

    5 out of 5 stars A Masterpiece.......2003-04-29

This is a great book. I highly recommend reading it.
The the author, what a lady!

    5 out of 5 stars A great read.......2003-04-23

This book captured small town youth and trauma with great character development. I could relate to every character throughout the 20 year span that the book encompasses, especially the youngest sibling Ben, at one point of my life or another. It was interesting how the chapters spanned the years and trying times in each of the 4 siblings' lives, and their family's trials throughout the kids' developmental years. It was brilliant and suspenseful; I didn't want it to end.
